Here is a workaround: ------------------------------------ 1. Install steam on rootserver. ( your primary account ) 2. Update the game 3. Put steam in OFFLINE mode. 4. start game with -server option. 5. start arma 3 locally ( your primary account ) , join your server. only 1 account needed, but a problem is that you manually need to update the server every once in a while, and running this on a linux server aint possible.

i'd Compete in the 2013ARG, And be the first to gain access in the Terminal (http://m26.node-42.rv4a3.org) and secure a copy ArmA3 before march 5. but sadly i cant : im excluded from participation :(

Hello, Today i have spotted 2 arma3 gameservers online. i'll be monitoring the arma3 serverlist from now. Sadly i couldnt fetch a playerlist bcoz of NAT. Anyways, it seems Raedek had a fun day today. The version i spotted online was version : 0.5.101892 if you're curious, and want to see them live in action, go do some clicking here

yea, that puzzles me too. i guess these services will continue, as i cannot imagine there is no company who could not be interested in such a source of information you could suck out of this service. anyways, you can use a 'alternative' gamespy master server for querying, so i guess there is enough flexibility to keep the existing gameserverlist running with little alterations. However, i would also like to see more information from gamespy regarding the gameserverlist service. i guess time will tell.

Ok, i slept a night over it, and here are my thoughts. I didnt expect steam exclusivity. I dont like the fact that a game is dependent on a third party app. I dont hate steam that much that i would skip arma3 In fact, i always wanted a dedicated work, and a dedicated game rig. This 'steam debacle' finally ends my wish for a dedicated game machine. So..... i'm not worried about steam at all. i guess its a matter of 'getting used to' i only hope that stupid steam tray info screen wont popup ingame.

And what makes you think you wont need steam for that? the devblog clearly states about the 'patching issue' that steam is the way to go.
