while waiting for part 3, i just realised about the beauty of a 'multipart' audio/video release in this thread. -The thread stays active over a couple of days. -Slow news sites pick this up when there is still new content. -The item reaches a broader audience. brilliant! -
LOL - i have that hartmann soundboard on my mobile ;) Meh, you could do better - but you have to be prepared. you're on phone, with marketeer. let him speak and make sure its marketeer. Start sounding interested in the product, ten say that doorbell rings, ask for hang on. ( have a doorbell mp3 at hand ;) ) Then start a mp3 with : a vaguely dooropen sound, first talking then screaming in native language, LOUD gunshots, breaking glass and then silence. after one minute of silence you hear policesirens some glass breaking by foot, some mumbling and then hang up. ;) feel free to change the script, and sound like its a police bust, house caught on fire, terrorist bust. variations on the door could be : you get another phonecall on your cell, and then play and endless conversation with your mother-in-law about 'as the world turns' or your docter about a fatal disease you got. just be creative with 'where could i receive a call, and what fatality could happen to me' In a car, at work, in a plane possbilities are endless! So much for ideas, here is the REAL master at work. oLnQXmkR3dI Tom Mabe - Revenge on the Telemarketeers. ( i ran this album on SahraniRadio once in a while ) for more inspiration check this searchresult : http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=revenge+of+the+telemarketeers&aq=f

Comparison picture album : Lemnos - ArmA3
jerryhopper replied to jerryhopper's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
heh, the real question is : Which island they use for that smaller one?! is it : - the small one southwest of limnos - or is it the one far east of limnos? i think its safe to say that the two islands on the east of limnos are too big. http://maps.google.nl/maps?q=limnos&hl=nl&ll=40.000268,25.269928&spn=0.906819,1.783905&sll=51.924216,4.481776&sspn=0.375603,0.891953&t=h&z=10 Tell me what you think ;) -
And here is part#2 kh0VV0yzYNc Please note that the video-intro say's part#3 - it is not! This is part #2, as briggsil made a small mistake during montage of the video.

Thats correct, i made this comparison too, yours however, shows the airport. the similarities, its friggen brilliant. Bravo Bis! -
Dont mistake that im looking for the cam-position ;) im 100% sure the camera location from this shot is around my spot ( center of map ) Since the camera is looking north, and in the north is the powerplant. your location has the plant south.
-
the detail is scary. The only thing that IS on the picture, but NOT in real-life is the radio-tower on top of the mountain. All other stuff, like the 'lines' on the fields, and house positions. it's uncanny! ps: the real-world location of the screenshot : http://maps.google.com/maps?q=limnos+greece&hl=nl&ll=39.893687,25.068312&spn=0.012775,0.02547&sll=51.924216,4.481776&sspn=0.328601,0.815048&t=h&z=16

i dont know if this question is asked already but : Is there accurate ingame lat/lon info for Limnos? Since the game is now on a real location, it would be nice to see accurate lat/lon information. Thanks to google, we can make use of these real maps in the form of map overlays and geographical info about our future battlefield. We could geo-tag our screenshots & movies at the spot they were taken. Large campaigns could be planned collaboratively online. Its even posisble to collaborativly create waypoints in google-maps, and download/save them for use in your mission. And finally if we could tap into the ArmAserver and access the game-data ( troop positions etc ) via Rcon, we could do some real magic with the maps!! There are so many possibilities in using the geo-location. it opens a whole new dimension. So please ,please , pretty please with cream on top, can somebody tell me if there is real LAT/LON info ingame??
-
I dont know why, i actually cant think of something. It was just a question, and the info i got so far is satisfying Letz hope we can access troop location vectors from rcon.

Wow, nice job! -
Ahh! ofcourse! You mean a script that calculates the estimated lat/lon based on the arma map coordinates. thats exactly what i needed to know!
-
Oops! i did something i didnt suppose to do. ( to see what, goto www.armedassault.eu ) Question : can you embed the LAT/LON code in the images?

Sorry to say this F2F_BHO, but in this matter Murklor is correct. Nope, you need a tegra2 chipset. Your best bet is a Tablet - many tablets have the tegra2 chipset. i have tried on a samsung galaxy s & htc-wildfire/buzz and it doenst work. Unless you are a lucky owner of the few smartphones out there, playing arma @school on your phone is not yet within reach. But besides phones and tablets, there is other hardware that runs on android. If you're a Mini, Audi , BMW or Tesla owner for instance ( recent model) you might even be able to play ArmA Firing range, while in a traffic jam! If there is anyone with a Car-pc able to run ArmAFR, send me some photo's and i'll refund the game! Here is the supported devices list. Tesla Motors Model S (Vehcile Info-ainment) Audi MMI Touch (Vehcile Info-tainment) BMW (Vehcile Info-tainment) Mini (Vehicle Info-tainment) here is a preliminary list of tegra2 smartphones ... Samsung Galaxy S II (in some regions) (smartphone) Motorola Atrix (smartphone) Motorola Photon (smartphone) Motorola Bionic (smartphone) LG Optimus 2x (smartphone) 1 netbook NEC 7″ (mini-laptop) It seems Tegra2 is a widely used tablet-video chip. the list of tablets is quite long, and far from complete. Acer Picasso T10A10 (tablet) Acer Iconia A500 (tablet) Acer T20 (tablet) Asus Eee Pad Slider (tablet) Asus Eee Pad Transformer (tablet) Dell Streak 7 (tablet) eLocity A7 Config. 1 (tablet) eLocity A7 Config. 2 (tablet) eLocity A7 Config. 3 (tablet) eLocity A7 Config. 4 (tablet) eLocity A7 Config. 5 (tablet) eLocity A7 Config. 6 (tablet) eLocity A7 Config. 7 (tablet) HTC Scribe (tablet) Kno Single-Screen (tablet) Kno Dual-Screen (tablet) LG G-Slate (tablet) Malata A1101 (tablet) Motorola Xoom (tablet) MSI Windpad (tablet) Notion Ink (tablet) Onkyo TA117 (tablet) Olivetti OliPad 100 (tablet) Point of View Mobii (tablet) Samsung Tab 2 (tablet) Shuttle P10AN01 (tablet) Toshiba Folio 100 (tablet) Toshiba 10″ (tablet) T-Mobile G-Slate(tablet) Velocity L510 Viewsonic G-Tablet (tablet) Viewsonic 10s (tablet)

Pre-announcement ARG answers to questions discussion
jerryhopper replied to Damu's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Hi there. i know its more than one question, therefore i try to pack it into 1. ARG is most commonly used as a sales-trick ( viral ), which ends after a few months. We have seen more like this (ARG) in the past ( flashpoint, arma, arma2 (teh GUBA files) ) & like websites (AAN news, with clue's etc.) and the BLOG around queens arma/qgambit Is there a chance, that the 'community' can play a role in this ARG story and will this 'ARG' promotion last longer than till the release-date? like some sort of roleplaying in the never-ending arma story ( sahranistudio's is at ur service, as im about to switch jobs for less stress and more freetime ) Tadaa! Two questions combined as one, and ARG related :) -
greece ey'? i forsee missions where EU soldiers has to bring tons of valueable transport ( our taxmoney ) to the banks, whitout being raided by the partisans ;0) Ahh! lucky bastard! you have been there?!?

jerryhopper replied to jerryhopper's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Where? Location : ArmA2/@yourmod/ What? File : mod.cpp name = "Something"; picture = "mod.paa"; //optional to use different mod picture, mod.paa is default actionName = "Website"; action = "http://www.mysite.com"; //only websites are currently possible here Put mod.paa in same folder. Done! Also works with @ in the foldername.
