Would you like to see a WW2 Eastern Front Mod?
jojimbo replied to =Spetsnaz='s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
i would love to see an east front mod for ww2,but in those ww2 pics,OFPCAT has ripped I44 models from operation flashpoint,it's mostly NOT vilas work. -

That as may be true theoretically, but what the issue is - for me anyhow... odol affords you protection in such a way as say, music copyright. Those "numpties",may take the MLOD .p3d model file, change a few pixels and some textures and claim the work as original just as some bottomcrawler may change some lyrics and a bit of bassline and also call it their own. However where music has no "real" protection, the .p3d format does, even if the format was originally developed for game optimization,it does prevent "numpties" from opportunistic plagarism. I have seen various models and textures being imported into games from other games even, and modders work "re-issued!" and I am under no illusion anything I make would never be used without my permission in some other game or project:D

yeah dont waste your time trying to port the arma1 mod to arma2,we are already onto it,and as john said,it shouldnt be long. we already have the map in,functioning ok just a few thing to clear up code wise, some p3d issues etc,but its looking good atm. -

jojimbo replied to bloodbomb's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
ofp is arma/arma2 and the baby of BI codemasters really should have called their game something different imo. although it looks good,i cant help think its gonna be like predator2, ie...predator without the arnie -

@ miles The cause of the slowdown in the initial mission I am sure is a script or something causing a memory leak. We're looking into it.It could also be down to a funky shadowlod. @Gunter thanks for that really great report... we know of a few of these and are fixing up a patch asap. most of them are unfortunately due to binarization bugs :( especially small things like hatches moving with turret and missing sprockets. animations will always be a problem, unless an expert in this field comes forth for the community as a whole, and I dont think this has happened since OFP. ArmA2 is much more superior to ArmA,in every aspect,so hopefully this will generate new fans and modders to pitch in. -

31st NORMANDY MOD - WW2 Â -BETA RELEASE
jojimbo replied to rip31st's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Dont forget MAN and Daimler Benz, or did i44 bought the rights on the panther design? and why dont you discuss this via pm with t-roc directly instead of accusing him or the 31st normandy mod of stealing? maybe take a look on the nwheels.paa of his ofp panther pack before starting more of your would/could sentences. nice work Aqu and T-roc! Edit: Â Â No of course I haven't got the rights to Daimler Benz or MAN,well spotted.Does that mean anyone and everybody can go and port our stuff, rip it open and use it anywhere? I should have PM'd T-Roc definately a bad call on my part, and I am sorry for that T-Roc,truly. It was brought to my attention so I dealt with the issue. I am not arguing or bickering,I am defending the integrity of my mod,and other mods and artists. Its good and right for people to defend their works. So the SHAME is all yours for thinking otherwise. -

If it's the same one, and intellectual property rights belonged to Troc (which it does) and he's giving it to this mod, then there aren't any issues. Very nice Troc! Â Can't wait to get it! Look carefully at that track I would say thats a definite i44 texture there, and i can absolutely say the panther on our forum is NOT T-rocs panther, again, the only intellectual property abused is i44's,meh! Having had a closer look, could be those roadwheels are hacked too.Nice job. -
Those soldiers were really shaping up there mehman, british webbing and uniforms really looking like the real thing i absolutely refuse to use the dancing banana
