  1. ArmaMods.net and Armed Assault Zone have had the chance to put some questions to Ian Howe of 505 Games.

    Check out an extract below:

Quote[/b] ]Q: Can you tell us about some of the marketing idea's that you have for Armed Assault?

-A lot of exciting plans are being put together and we can tell you now that ArmA’s great community won’t be forgotten, in fact they will be a key focus area for our plans. Just as soon as we are in a position to talk about these further we will be sure to share them with you.

Quote[/b] ]Q: What made you decide to publish Armed Assault?

-To be honest? Simply because it’s a great Game. Of course Operation Flashpoint’s success has played a little and the fact that Bohemia’s great team was behind it!

Armed Assault Zone has had the chance to interview JB from the SASMOD for Arma.

Quote[/b] ]Can you give us a little background on your project.

SASMOD stands for Special Air Service Module, it started out as a VBS1 project and was only intended as an addon module not a modification as such.

The aim of the project is to create UK Special Forces content for Armed Assault. This will include units like the SAS, SBS and SFSG along with some of the equipment that they would typically use.

The SASMOD project dates back quite a few years. It was actually the very first OFP project I was involved in. I was an advisor for the MOD and didn’t really have a great knowledge of what was involved in addon creation. Modding for OFP was in its infancy and information and tools for the job were limited, unfortunately I think this led to the disbanding of the project.

I started the SASMOD project for VBS1 in early 2005, this initially wasn’t intended as an updated version of the first SASMOD as, in fact it wasn’t until Phantom, the old project leader got in touch with me that I remembered what we had called the old one. I am pleased to say though that Phantom has given me the OK to continue using the name and he has joined our forums albeit in a non-operational role.

  3. I agree with Espectro, killing for survival or food is fair enough but killing for fun is not.

    Back on topic*

Not sure if its been mentioned yet but Morphicon the publisher for Germany has confirmed that they will not be using Starforce on the German Arma copy.
