I cannot see a way to respawn and have my loadout I selected at main base when starting a mission? I see on some multiplayer maps there is a save option under open, which I have selected and saved, but this isn't always available and preferred loadouts don't appear, This is currently a really frustrating part of generally very slow multiplayer sessions. This makes it much more painful. Please allow easy respawn with loadouts Thanks JAS

selected loadouts on respawn option?

Great thanks Blackheart, I will check this out. Much appreciated. -
Hi Is there a helicopter in Arma 2 that allows the pilot to control the gun sight with his head movement. i.e. wherever I look, the machine gunsight will follow the centre of my vision, instead of remaining fixed dead ahead. I think I saw a video clip on youtube showing a pilot firing the machine gun off out of his left window at troops on the ground. Anyone advise me which helis I can do this in ? Many thanks Jasooon

errr, without the sweat, but here goes. The problem with close combat in Arma 1, as we all know, is it feels a little clunky at best. Arma 2 was much smother in action. I was concerned whe I saw early videos of Arma 2 last year, that the running motion seemed to sway a great deal, but this seemed to be less so on the version I played. The improved animations from reload and aiming, to running and turning, along with the better fps, made the experience much slicker. Dare I say, with almost the feeling BF2 gave, but still requiring skill with aiming and timing, so not arcade like. The injured and death sequenece was nice too, as blood flows to the head you get motion blurring and redness on screen to simulate dizziness and fainting. The extra detail all around definietely adds to the experience too. Hope that helps a little. Not long now and we will all have our mits on it. Cheers Jason -

I asked James from BI this question at the press launch in London and he said the radnomly generated landscape beyong the 225 sq km will have the same detail with towns and roads, etc. Every new gaming session will have a new random landscape generated, but all players in the same session will see the same detail as everyone else, so continuity is retained. Arma 2 felt great to play. Especially playing close combat which really pleased me. Cheers Jason [TG] -
A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment Public Release!
jasooon replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
guess I should post this here as I cannot find it discussed anywhere else. Why can I only fire rockets as a pilot in the AHZ when selecting manual fire? Before ACE it was possible to fire canons, rockets and hellfires, now I can only fire rockets ? Any chance we can have this back, as trying to control an ai gunner to fire as wanted is just too painful and random. Thanks JAS -
ArmA2 factions: What's the NAPA faction?
jasooon replied to ricnunes's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Sorry but that does not qualify as a legitimate international update. So not buying it. Reckon another faction category will be revealed soon. They are just teasing us like little lap dancers. Wave your money boys, let em have it -

Has anyone heard any more on the rumoured release date of 20.02.09. Peter Games (aka. Morphicon) says 20.02.09 and they released it first last time. Strange there is no big build up, but if I remember right it was the same with OFP all those years ago. http://www.shooterplanet.de/Shooterhaupt.php?id=654 Amazon.de says same date too. Don't want to stir histeria, so soz but just checking if its old news ? Many thanks Jas -
Justa quick note to Squeeze and the others modders that help make the OGN crCTI. I really miss the crcti days of OFP and had a look at this after a search around. Played on my own with 1.11 as I can't get into other servers running it at the mo with the 1.11 join bug. Still had a blast. It really does create a dynamic war feeling and had lots of AI surprises. They seem smarter now. Anyway this is just a thanks really as I know a lot of people give want lists and sometimes forget to say thanks for your great efforts. All the best and cu in there one day

1.09 beta patch troubleshooting thread.
jasooon replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I have Geforce 8800 GTS with 4 gig of Ram on Vista 32 bit using Driver Version: 7.15.11.6375 (or 163.75_forceware_winxp_32bit_english_whql) and it runs good. check this out it mite help you Update for Windows Vista (KB940105) http://www.microsoft.com/downloa....lang=en Thanks Aussie Dave, but this black loading screen is a 64bit issue. Others have reported same issue remains with 1.09 in other reports also on the 64bit OS. Appreciate the hint, but tried all I have come across except the boot menu setup to drop to 3 gig of ram, as this is going too far to have to reboot every time I want to play when it works fine with older Nvdia drivers. I'll keep praying for a miracle jas -
1.09 beta patch troubleshooting thread.

Geforce 8800 GTS with 4 gig of Ram on Vista 64 black screen (no graphics loading) problem still here in 1.09. Before I get flamed that Vista is not supported of which I am aware. I am trying to make sense of the fact Arma 1.08 and 1.09 do work with the old Nvidia drivers upto 1.58.45. Every nvidia driver since has stopped Arma from working. It worked with the hardware and Vista 64 OS once, why can't it work with the new Nvidia drivers ? Regards Jas -
Hi I just installed Arma on an xp32 system and get an error saying 'hid.dll failure' every time I try and start Arma ? From what I can work out on my internet searches it may have something to do with a usb device or an infared device. I have an evga 8800 GTS KO 640 with the 169.09 drivers. Has anyone ever come across this error as it's driving me knuts. I have reinstalled Arma to patch 1.08 and still no joy. Thanks for your help if you can. Regards Jasooon
-
Hi Baddo Yes have tried removing them/trying without and installing the latest drivers with them in, but no joy. Have a Gyro mouse, Linksys keyboard, Hauppauge HVR 4000 and a netgear wirless lan. Just wondered if anyone had come across the hid.dll crash before and what it may specifically relate to ? Thanks Jasooon

Hi I am running Arma on Vista x64 Ultimate with 4gig of Ram on an 8800 GTS. The trick is to use the old Nvidia drivers. v 1.58.45 is the one I rolled back to. All the nvidia drivers since have caused the black loading screen. I also use the maxmem=256 command in my start icon which seesm to prevent the CTD's. I am getting fed up not being able to update my graphics drivers just because of ArmA since June, so lets hope they fix it in the 1.09 Arma patch Cheers Jasoooon

new Nvidia 8800 drivers vista 64. Â Working anyone?
jasooon posted a topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Has anyione got the latest nvidia 163.11 forceware drivers working with Arma on a vista x64 PC ? I keep having to backload to version 158.18 releases back in April to get anything working half decently in Arma. I have gone through dozens of posts on this and cannot see anyones experience with these drivers. With the new drivers installed, I get a slow Arma start and the menu 3d backdrop is black and grey with no textures and very slow movement. Have installed lates vista fix and no joy Thanks for any tips Jas -
new Nvidia 8800 drivers vista 64. Â Working anyone?
jasooon replied to jasooon's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Thanks for the update guys, have the 4 gig ram and back with the 158.24 drivers. One day we will get this 8800 GTS working properly Cheers Jasooon -
Hi Ok this one is driving me mad, it is impossible to complete. i have destroyed all the tanks and enemy soldiers. Parked my heli and got the drivers of the three trucks to disembark and follow me on foot all the way to the enemy base. We scoured the whole stretch to the enemy base in search of surviving enemy and found no more. even had my gunner jump in the pilot seat and follow from above scanning all around as we went. Has anyone found a way past this mission yet as I am pretty frustrated. Thanks

Excellent example of flight dynamics. BIS take a look at this and let our littlebirds fly the same please.

To the people who are playing ArmA, how is it?
jasooon replied to evilnate's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Hi. Thought I would throw in my experience as there are mixed views about on this forum and every extra opinion can help. I live in the UK. I purchased the download version from Morphicon. I ran Sickboy's German / Czech to Englich patch and the whole game runs in English really well. (big hand to Sickboy and his team). So I am now playing ArmA 2 months earlier than expected and am enjoying playing it instead of checking the forum for vids and images every day Now to the game. Its fantastic. I have been playing OFP for five years, mostly CRCTi and MFCTI online in the past two years as this was the most fun online. ArmA is much better than OFP for sure. Yes there are bugs and yes we have to wait for the community to catch up with conversions and addons to play as we did with OFP, but this is a game to be pleased with. My only big dissapointment is with the flight model as it really is a pig to control the helis, but this is being fixed as we type. The next patch will hopefully be out soon as Placebo says it is being beta tested already. My greatest joy so far was during a campaign mission where we take a city. So much is going on. Great gun battles in the fields outside the town, tanks to take out, then edging through the town in true urban fighting situations. All looks beautiful and plays a dream. Don't let anyone put you off this game. It is a great achievement by BIS and will grow to be something quite special in 2007. -
Hi Shadek I really wana see the sheep and bunnies ... oh and do the sheep bleet when shot Many thanks for your offer Shadek, most generous. All the best Jasoooon

Yeah I'm chipper now, thanks for that... must be a theme to keep our minds off not playing ArmA as XeNos on this thread threw my focus for a moment too with his Signature GIF Forum thread Come on BIS update the web site and flood us with info to passify our need while you are all playing ArmA over there
