  1. That's what I found regarding the "-nomap" command

BUG FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS IN 1.92 BETA

    =======================================

1.92 - Fixed: Different file-access technique used when memory mapping fails. This should prevent Cannot memory map file errors. This alternative technique can be also enforced for all files by using command line switch -nomap

"operation flashpoint loads all of your addon folder when it starts

without the -nomap it tries to load an incredible amount of stuff into RAM and continue operation. On most systems out there this brings the game to a screeching halt and an abrupt return to desktop "

"Oh, btw: the addons do not "get loaded into ram" when ofp starts, but mapped into virtual memory. If all the ~3gb of addons i use would get loaded into ram i should be able to see this in the swapfile usage, which i don't. This is what the -nomap parameter changes ;) "

    Does that help?

  2. Erm... What does the -nomap actually do?

When you launch OFP the screen appear black, without the usual cutscene.

This speed up the load of the game.

    If I'm not wrong, naturally....

Hm, that's the "-nosplash" option. "-nomap" causes, that addons are loaded into the memory when they are needed and not at game startup (uh, bad english today)

  3. Hi folks,

Team Yankee members are proud to release our Bridge-Pack to the public

Here you see three different bridge types we use for our island:

a stone viaduct, a ribbon bridge built by US Army engineers and a collapsed steel-girder roadbridge.

    BridgePack1.jpg

And another picture showing three types of steel-girder bridges. A road bridge with and without the underneath gangway and the same for the two types of railway bridges.

It's not PC to call them "retarded" bombs anymore. They are "intellectually challenged" bombs!

  4. Hi,

well, I've searched the troubleshooting FAQ/forum but found no real answer to my problem.

I use a TM HOTAS joystick/throttle combo with OFP 1.96.

I maped the rudder keys "X" and "Z" onto one of the joystick buttons. Ingame these buttons work fine. But only as long as I don't touch the joystick. As soon as I touch the stick itself only the tiniest bit (seems I only have to look at it), the rudder keys won't work anymore. No matter if I use the keyboard or the buttons (stick). Strange, but the mouse look/pan funtion won't work also no more.

Any ideas how to fix that. It's hard to fly these choppers without a rudder.

  5. Well buddy just make sure you got a lot of free time in the months to come, cause you just entered the world of Flashpoint. Start downloading custom madon addon/missions/mods/campaigns etc. and you know what I mean. And don't forget to check out the important sites daily. You don't want to miss new releases, don't you?

  6. Hi,

while watching some Falluja footage on a german news magazine today I noticed that one of the US-troopers is using a sowiet type AK-rifle. Well, I heard of special forces units using enemey "hardware" (for deception etc.) but I never saw regular forces doing so. Maybe this guy ran out of 5.56? Damaged his M-4?

  7. phil and Leone had already explain everything about this crazy_o.gif

Well sorry, I can read the above, but I couldn't manage to get it working. So my (in my eyes reasonable) question is for a config.cpp for custom roads (I searched the forum and OPFEC, but didn't found anything appropriate).

Hope I didn't annoy you too much nosferatus mad_o.gif

  8. Doesn't farmland objects pack already have cornfields and wheat fields  rock.gif

(If you didn't know, "maize" means corn)

Yes, it does. But a whole large map with only two types of fields won't look that good. sad_o.gif

P.S. "Corn" is wrong? Isn't it called "corn on the cob"?
