Do you feel your Arma2 is too dull or colorless? Then this may interest you.

So where did u find it? -
Someone said once you go to surround vision you never go back to a single monitor, They are so right! I'm a matrox THTG user, have been since arma one. Absolutely love it!

I paid 200 usd 4 intel x-52 80 gig ssd. I use a pair of them one for the os, one for games, who knew that an ssd is only 100 times quicker than its mechanical counterpart. Did you know it doesn't need to be defragmented? It also consumes less power. These aren't claims they are facts. -
You could look here, http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=73947&highlight=hardware+settings+armaII Its not the size of your monitor but the resolution you choose to run with the hardware in "your" machine. I also recommend this as it has a wealth of information. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=72181

Does ArmA 2 Warrant An Additional Video Tutorial Disc?
ht-57 replied to infiltrator_2k's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Hey infiltrator, check this site out for tactics and tips. http://ttp2.dslyecxi.com/ -
10,000 rpm drives ain't cheap either, in fact the raptor is bout 200usd and the intel x52 is 200usd, albeit the x52 is only 80g. So why would you purchase a pair of 10,000rpm 150g optical drives for a game that uses 12g. For the price of a pair of raptors you could have a pair of ssd's, one for OS one for programs. IN sailndawgs case he just needs one more ssd, Keep the raptors for data storage. the x-25 80g is even cheaper 179usd ....149 after rebate. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167031

CO is "combined operations" its a two disc set that is arma II and operation arrowhead.
-
For myself I went with two x-52 intel 80g. OS on one, game on the other and I am more than thrilled!

ARMA 1 : beta patch 1.18.5278 RC (road to final) + feedback
ht-57 replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Hey jim, I run xp sp3/2g ram/ nvidea 7950GT/ intel x86 I have no problem exiting to desk top, Then going on line, probs with task bars.. But im playing sp only as of late. Are you having this prob with either mp or sp? You may have something else amiss in your rig that's brought on by 1.18. When is the last time you did a OS reinstall or basic maintenance such as, defrag/compress/driver or reg clean? just trying to offer up some idea's. I can relate to how frustrating it can be when there's a prob, especially with a program you enjoy! -
I agree with Max!, I still use arma. Wouldn't ya know just last night I was creating yet another mission for myself on that other map.....whats it called....o yeah "Schmalfeden"?! I must thank you for all of your hard work!, for it has given me countless hours of enjoyment! I'm downloading "Razani" atm. I can only hope you put in the rest of these idea's of yours!

31st NORMANDY MOD - WW2 Â -BETA RELEASE
ht-57 replied to rip31st's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Thank you! great job thus far! Keep it coming,I can't get enough of the ww2 era! This may have been mentioned before,My apologies if it is redundant. Can the speed in which the tanks turn be slowed down, or is that just the way the arma engine is? I am fully aware that this mod is about playability not rivet counting,....But.... It would be awsome if someone could "skin" some of the models. Kinda like CMBB. I know two diffrent beasts. I can dream can't I? anyway THANKS again! -
Its been 'bout 4 weeks of giving this title a go. The other night was the proverbial straw that broke my camels back. After getting into a good MP "hold" style game the dreaded server crash. NP, move on find another game.Get into game at the breifing. Its all good until we all go to get into the chopper and my controls get locked into the free head movement and I can't open any menus, or 2x alt out of this mode.....@#!@!#$%$@!!....ok disconnect, reconnect ...play 10mins go to get in chopper with teammates and again, same thing. After this happen,s 3x, I say to my "self" there's only like 8 servers at this point with more then 6 people on {all "coop" btw. Is the AI that appealling to all of you?}. I decide I'll continue my own ongoing SP version of evo. What happen's ...CTD.... The restraint I displayed, to keep myself from putting my fist through my 23" lcd mon... That's How I know its time to retire this title. I've only had a few other posts on this forum, unfortunatley 99% of them live in this thread. To those who have the ability to stick with arma,All the best. Its been real, its been nice, It just hasn't been real nice.

One thing that may be over looked by the general public is the use of a gaming specific keyboard. I use a Logitech G15. It has a bank of 18 programable macro's "keys" that are switchable between 3 modes. That gives you 54 total assignable "keys". Its real easy to use,and works with all games. The keys are backlit thru the symbols on the keys. Great for those who like a dark room when they game. It also gives you an extra pair of usb ports that are on the kb itself. It also has a couple of other creature features that come in handy as well. A flip up LCD sreen that can be used for time/date. or a fav of mine, a preformance monitor. it tells you real time how much ram and how much cpu you are using while gaming. I would be rimiss if I didn't mention the volume "wheel", very cool. So beside what you can do with editing arma controls. A kb like this one gives you the ability to customize controls on games that don't have that option. You can also edit your keys on the "Fly" or in mid game without having to pause. I don't recommend doing it in arma cause you will most likely get shot in the eye at that point!

I have been on playing the "bezerk" servers latley having a great time being cannon fodder for human players. Its refreshing to see no AI! being able to use any avalible weapons/ vehicals. Having the ability to spawn at any foward area that your team has control of make for some real fun firefights! It has been my expierence that the games run one to two hours. Which is perfect if you don't have all day to rank up just to operate a specific weapon system,Or spend a better part of your time driving to or looking for a ride to the front only to be shot in the eye bye the AI!

Hey psyco, Sounds like a plan! ribs /shrimp you name it! I have to ask what type of game do you play on that server? Just curious being you said it wasn't evo. Who knows perhaps all this debate about arma and such will make for some positive changes in future patches or new releases.. Is that for real about shotguns in the geneva convention? Then all I can say Is bless the second amendment!
-
Great ideas second. But there are those who have stated that this is apparently a military sim.? That somehow translates into engagements don't happen at that range, hence the lack of hand to hand combat and shotguns in arma. SO if you want that type of action you must go play that "arcade" game made by the compeition.

psycosmos,may I quote

Why thank you Mr sphere! I was feelin that rant. I almost forgot The exclusion of the "shot gun" In arma. what armed force would have a shot gun, pump or semi in thier arsenal? But I do have pretty colored smoke grenades that just help the AI shoot me in the eye! If I drive a truck next to a battle damaged vehicle. get out and do a dance while painting a crop circle the vehicle repairs itself. wow, thats's keep'n it real. you just would'nt find that type of immersion in an "arcade" game. you know the one where you jump out of the vehicle if you survive. take your magic wrench out to fix the damage, how arcade is that? Yeah man flash suppressors on all the AR's that don't hide the flash, sweet! There's more reality fact's in arma, help me out what else am I forgeting. Team America F yeah! ALLLAHH ALAH LALALALAduk duk! btw 44 to 11
-
Jok, question Do you mean "noise supressor" Or muzzle brake/ flash supressor It was my understanding that a "muzzle brake" or compensator/supressor redirected the gases upward to compensate for recoil. in other words push the barrel down during recoil so you can get back on target quicker. At least thats how the muzzle brake works on my AR That is the reason I had it installed, to aquire targets more quickly during timed events like the aqt. that's another arma quirk,m16s or all ARs in game have supressors yet you still see the flash.

Intresting, must give it a try. You know I thought that this being more sim than arcade if you will, BI would have given you choices like HP/FMJ/SP {hollowpoint/full metal jacket/soft point..etc..} You could even go as far as diffrent grain loads, ok maybe thats alittle much. what does 'SD" stand for?
