  1. Ok, demystified That transparency thing seems to be occational though, but it is there, and looks crappy ... Those hardcoded paths are a real pain... There are few others as well which of course means that if those are edited a Mod needs to 'ship' the whole data or data3d pbo(s) with it... Size increase would be inevitable ... Anyway, it seems that I will need to drop this approach then... Some hours saved there
  2. Yeah... Though afaik it's seems to be those complex vehicles like tanks etc that cause the 'lag period' upon creating... In any case, interested to see what/how ECP guys have cooked these things up...
  3. What the hell are you talking about... I can make that kind of crater, and I have done it. Does me saying that somehow translate into "ECP sucks!! You guys suck!!! I can make that kind of crater so there's nothing special about you!! I am God!! I'm better than anyone here!!!" Get a brain, 'dude'... Of course, I can't know how exactly they have done it but they sound and look like the things I've experimented with... [edit]And my craters did look insanely crappy (like a half of some tire) and don't really work all the way the same way Zay says... So they probably are createVehicled after all, or you guys have found something I've missed [/edit] Despite all of this, I'm awaiting this mod to get released... The AI parts in the feature list are very very interesting... Is there any change that your scripts could be 'loaned' for other mods once you release this?? I know a few people that the suppressive fire thingy would make a very happy campers
  4. I'm pretty sure those are not createVehicled (which causes the 'lag period') but just 'edited' default craters (default crater models replaced...)... I've done those myself too...

    I actually have not been on a board yet that has the Karma feature so I don't have any experience on it... (although one of 'my' boards probably has that once the software gets updated) There's a sort Karma feature on these boards, it's just controlled by the moderators That would be hard to say because I really have not taken part in any discussions and tend not to... I also wouldn't always have anything intelligent to add, and my views on certain issues would just cause problems... Oh... I never paid any attention to the stars actually... At first I wondered what they are used for, but never bothered to look into it.. I really don't see the point in 'rating' people although all boards seem to have a feature of that sort... I never really pay any attention to post counts... Sure, but I would think that was the whole idea... When somebody posts something that is his/her opinnion they most likely do it to make their point heard and to see whether there are others that think the same... And surely they know when their opinnion is very different from the majority they will get people worked up.. And yes, probably not the best way to start on some forums...

    I wasn't 'attacking' you personally... So first post should then be what if not critical or expressing your own opinnion? Is there's a certain limit of posts to be reached until you have earned the right to be critical or share your opinnion? And I'm not referring to this 'case' alone, it has happened before... Not only with people with low post counts, but also with people who have not been registered here for years... It doesn't mean that if you are a die hard OFP fan you would register here.. I know a few myself... And, it seems that in here posting your own opinnion when it contradicts the vast majority's opinnion is simply not 'allowed' and results in insults and very often even a flame 'fest'... Also, a single post length/amount of paragraphs/lines does not always mean the post is worthwhile... (like in the case of this post ) In this particular case I think MKK realised the hint of sarcasm I was aiming at... (I do admit that it's fairly hard to recognise that from a written text...) But this is drifting into the 'seas of off-topic' and if we continue this ranting for much longer I think we get slapped on the fingers Anyway, although MKK is entitled to his/her opinnion of AA being DOA, I do not concur with it for the reasons expressed by many before me... I will buy it... Even if everyone here would tell me after playing it that it sucks... (Which is quite impossible equation...) I don't see any stupidity or harm in releasing AA, and if it helps BIS to gather funds in the pursuit of "OFP2" what would be a better reason for releasing it...

    And it's actually more like band who is re-recording bunch of their old songs plus couple new ones and releasing it for the christmas I have to say I have never understood why people are judged by their post counts... I've been following these forums since it's creation, registered 2002 and have only 100 posts... So does that make me less of a OFP fan/less dedicated to OFP community Well, maybe I need to start writing all those "Wohoo, great " comments to get my post count up

    Yup... All info on vehicles (incl. possible additions/modifications in the simulations/classes themselves) etc and a list of possible new scripting functions would be very usefull in planning future actions...
  10. I would like to see a function that would set 'owner' for camcreated/createvehicled ordnance/projectiles/whatnot.. So that you could setOwner (yeah I know, stupid name...) with something like unitname setOwner camCreatedStuff... This would make kills registered in the statistics with camCreated/createVehicled ordnance/projectiles/whatnot..... And of course those already mentioned VBS goodies

  14. @Kegetys: would it be possible make this thing check which keys are bound to which action in the keybinds? So you could then check whether a prone or other stance buttons have been pressed.... Would finally make that getUnitStance function possible...

Requires the Fischkopp Humwee Pack (FK_HMMWV) Download M1025 HMMWV with Mk19 FEATURES: - Fires real grenades instead of explosive bullets; M430 HEDP and M383 HE - Simulates their respective arming ranges - Empty grenade casings and links are ejected from the weapon... - Works in MP... KNOWN ISSUES: - Kills are not recorded (do not appear in the statistics) - The ejected casings & links seem to disappear when looking at the vehicle in certain angles. This seems to be a game engine issue... - The sights are not completely balanced, so you pretty much need to fire a few rounds to estimate correct angle... And the sight texture is 'raped' by yours truly... Sry FischKopp ;)...

    Humwee with Mk19

    I don't know if I animate the belt... Nothing on the model is done by me except minor modifications to get the sights working, so all credit on the model goes to FischKopp.. The sound is from Fisch's humwees as well.. This just shows alternative way to make those grenadelaunchers on cars... So if someone wants to use this on their AddOns/Mods (like WGL) feel free to do so (with credits of course )... There's no modifications on the model required, just those few scripts...

AFAIK it can't even be fixed because the savegame saves all the scripts, variables etc. that are running when the mission is saved (well, due to certain OFP bugs not everything is saved correctly ) and if you try to load the saved game without ECP running it will get funked as the ECP scripts/etc are not available... The savegame bug that people here are referring to is the one caused by too many global variables, which is again a OFP bug... And this as I understood has been circumvented in the upcoming ECP... At least somebody said that a long time ago in some old ECP thread... I think...

    And you should... Way better than the one now available... We just hit some nasty bug that will take some time to get around, and it seems to be a BIS/OFP bug within another BIS/OFP bug so it's like circumventing a circumvent... If you have trouble just contact me or sa8gecko... You should be able to add the Beta 3 scripts into the vehicle afterwards though, so it would not do any harm to make the vehicle work with the current files... Nothing new on the vehicles is required, it's all in the manuals... There's also some scripts amongst the scripts that are not necessarily needed by any addon, they are more of our own vehicle specific... Mainly the setObjectTexture scripts...

    WTH!! So somebody is actually using that vehicle... Didn't see that one coming... This is actually a very good idea... You wouldn't know what kind of sound resembles it?? Or hapen to have a sample laying somewhere..
