WTF How many times have I (and Placebo) tried to mail them, PM them and open a thread to them?! Nobody listens to the little guy Anyway, nice job Placebo hope you get some credit now Hahahahah, that is pretty funny actually . Â Hope everything at E3 is going well for BIS. EDIT: On Gamespot's page for Armed Assault the release date says Q4 2005 (Europe). Link here. Any idea what is means by Europe? I can't imagine BIS not releasing AA to North America, Australia, etc...wouldn't make any sense .

Yeah mate. I got the VBS1 Convoy Trainer advanced features, Dynamic destructable buildings, Advanced functionality module, TELOE (VBS1 operating system), and Observer 3 movies. They are near 100mb though, so they will take some time to upload .
-
Oh...I thought we only have 25km^2 islands . Shows that I am surely not an addons maker!
-
me too  I uploaded the video (RARed) onto Tactical Blunder.  It is 23mb. I think the new engine has basically all the engine upgrades the community wanted, but couldn't make without modifiying the engine itself.  I doubt multiple gun positions will be added, but maybe in a future patch .  New graphics look nice and 100km^2 islands sounds sweet . EDIT: To clear things up, the video is of an upcoming module for VBS1. This is not of Armed Assault!

OFP2 and "armed assault" - what's up?
Billabong81 replied to Cpt. FrostBite's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Sweet stuff! I love how BIS is releasing the images of AA and stuff discreetly . Can't wait 'till tomorrow . -
That's really good .

Well Hellfish, in my professional opinion, I believe this would be a bad move for BIS because....VBS1 = OFP2. You know it people. Stop trying to fake yourselves out. OFP2 is simply going to be VBS1 core + a couple addons. Then the expansion packs will be $25/pop and be things such as the SF pack for VBS1 and so forth. OFP3 will be right around the corner....as will VBS2....interesting! Stir the pot ! I'm sure we'll find out the answer to this big mystery by Wednesday or whenever BIS opens up @ E3 . EDIT: Typo...

I have recently been thinking of buying a laptop for school work & stuff, aka everything besides gaming . I have been looking at an ABS Mayhem G3 or an iBook. If the system I wanted was to be used strictly for work & movie/graphics editing, which would you suggest? They are both in the same price range (read: expensive ), so I want to make sure I am putting my money towards the product that will better suit me . I am in 9th grade and am hoping to get a laptop that will last until the end of 12th grade, so in this aspect which would be better for me as well? Thanks in advance guys! BTW, if this is too OT for OT, feel free to lock it. I did a search also, but didn't find any results .

I wish Apple would make their site and tech support more clear. Â You can get student rates on their site for hardware & everything, but it is unclear if this is for students and teachers or teachers only. Â I e-mailed their tech support and they basically outmanouvered the question . Â I have no clue whether I am eligible for the discount or not . Â I sure hope so, because I am leaning towards a powerbook right now and it would be nearly $250 in savings . EDIT: Here is how the educational discount is worded on the Apple site: I am a student in 9th Grade, so I fall into the K-12 part. Â It does not mention students, but above that it does. Â Can anyone clarify this, as Apple's tech supprt answer sucked? EDIT #2: Nevermind, found out I am NOT eligible for the student discount .

It is not a campaign. It is a single mission that has tons of different ways it can be played & stuff. I'm sure Winters can explain it better, but it is a single mission, not a campaign!

Sorry, should have mentioned I use CS/8 .

Hmm...thanks for the tip and the link. There is so much to consider before I make my purchase...I can't decide .

They have Office for Macs...it's just outrageously priced . Â MS Office 2004 for Macs. Â $500...could get a PC for that type of money . EDIT: Wow, just found a benefit to still being a student! MS Office 2004 for Macs...Student Edition!. $150

Yep, that was a concern of mine with the ABS laptop. Â It seemed to be a lot like Alienware laptops in terms of crappy battery life because they are so powerful . 1024x768 should be fine. Â I won't be doing any intense graphics/video work, just simple stuff. Â I also have my desktop if I need to do any really serious stuff . I just realized Apple has more than 1 line of notebooks ! Â It seems like a powerbook would better suit my needs, as it can be configured to have a DVD burner, comes with iLife preinstalled, and more . Â What do you guys think of this configuration for my needs? Â Has a 64mb Mobility Radeon 9700, 80gb HD @ 5400RPM, 1280x854 resolution, and more which should help in terms of graphics/movie editing . Â Here is the comparison, in specs & price:

I already have a desktop I use for all my gaming purposes and such (built it myself in January ). This laptop will strictly be for school work, graphics editing, and movie editing (we get movie projects & such all the time). I'm looking for something that is preferably under 8lbs max. The only special apps I would need would be Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, etc). You can get these at the apple store. Another question if you guys don't mind . Can anyone verify the battery life of either model? After reading some reviews, it seems like the ABS laptop's battery only lasts for 1-3 hours max. Anyone know how long the iBook battery lasts? Thanks for all your help guys .

In Photoshop just hit CTRL + Y and it will make it normal coloring .
