  1. Still having a crash bug with this new pack. I put in a squad of marines, and it seems to play ok. I add a crewman, the mission starts up and within 30 seconds, CTD. Something has changed with this pack from the previous version big time. I noticed in the readme you are suppose to use either the Jam config of the plain config so I did make sure that was the case.

    still having a crash bug on the crew. Anyone else experiencing this. If not Ill shut up.

  3. Hi Sanct

    Im getting an error on my face in a squad. It shows the blackened face but all other units are ok. I added Facetex2 to my addons to see if that would fix it but no luck.

    What soldier is having this problem ?

    What face set are you using (have you commented out the option " #define ENABLE_BIS_FACES " in the config.cpp or not ?)

    And is it a custom face by any chances ?

    If it is a custom face you use with OFP and most mods/addons, it is normal as the Llauma head model used by everything in this mod is not compatible visually with the kind of face texture used by the BIS head.

    To have a custom face working with Llauma head, you have to rework the texture of your custom face according to the different face mapping.

    Example of how your custom face must be, to be compatible with the llauma head on this link

    If it is not a custom face , i don't understand why you have this visual bug. Every faces coming with the game have been replaced with faces compatible with Llauma's head in this mod (as every units and civilians use Llauma's head there).

    This way there is no need of an eventhandler or a looped facetex script it is the game itself that is allocating the face, and there is no problem with units in vehicle and mutant faces.

  4. the idea is great , but at these stages if it is not compatible with SLX or at least whith ecp  i dont see it very useful , who plays with vanilla ofp ?  huh.gif

    You know you can make any mod use SLX without having to mess with the mod config. There is script you run in a trigger at the beginning of the mission that places the units you want to use SLX in an array. I like placing RHS and Hyk units in the array while leaving CoC arty units outside. I like the coc arty smoke better. Works great.


  5. yeah, i played all the night, and finally i think that Arma is really boring, if you don't like the simulations. for those who like that, this game is perfect. ofp was funnier, Arma is just too serious for me and need a too much expensive pc to work fine. thx for the demo as i said, but i won't buy the game. i will keep my old ofp.  smile_o.gif

    Unfortunately I may have to agree with this. Anything below 2.2 ghz will be unplayable for the most part. Too bad as I was looking forward to this game. But not going to put down $4000 for a new one to play this. I stick with ofp as long as I can unless someone comes up with a new idea.


  6. Wow that was disappointing. I doubt I ever got a FPS better than 4 with settings to low. My setup

    AMD 1.8 athlon

    1024mg ram

    Nvidia FX5600

    80 gig hD

    Lots of disk swapping going on. Is there a way to optimize?

    Mouse was pulsing all over with the disk reads. UGH  banghead.gif

    since your spec is quite under the basic needs it seems normal to me, did you use -maxram= command to assign ram to run the game? is your VR ram setting is optimized?(2 times the size of your actural phy. ram)

    defrag your hdd where your system, game and page file are in would also help

    somehow i think those AI aint accrate at all

    tried different engagement range with mixed skilled level, super ai off, all of them feel different in a fairly realistic way, not that much aimboted as in ofp b4

    Yes I did defrag and was able to get into the game at 640x480... Now you mention maxram. This makes me believe there is probably a whole set of options at the command line. Anyone care to share them. crazy_o.gif

    Ok second chance.. cleaned up my HD to make room was able to get game going. Had to play at 640x480 to get 5 fps with all graphics levels at low and no shadows. Yikes.....

    We're upping the simulation level in Armed Assault to levels only previously seen in our commercial work.  This will undoubtedly lead to many cries of "WGL for AA ruined my game and my life!" but I'm fully prepared to be just as happy with it even if Phaeden and I are the only people playing it.

    So yes, look out because here comes WGL...now with "RIFLEMAN NEEDS FOOD, BADLY" audio notification every 6.5 seconds.

    I'd like to remind you that there are a good number of people who play WGL and enjoy for things other than simulation for the sake of simulation.

    My Flashpoint group, which you may or may not know about, is probably one of the biggest if not THE biggest WGL groups there is.

    I hope that you do not make a mod that only a handful of people will ever care to play. I hope that my group will continue with Wargames League in the future as well. At this point in time, though, it's up for question.

    I can't imagine the appeal of making a mod that only you and one or two others might actually want to play. I hope that you do not actually do that, as it would be a tragic end to a mod that has otherwise given myself and my group an enormous amount of fun in OFP.

    Wow and your going under the assumption that they really care what you think, and not doing it out of their own creative love of something different and unique. Angus, Phaeden dont listen to rubish like this. You guys keep making the product you think you would like to play and those that are interested will come.  I for one would love to see more realism. We need a more comprehensive wound system, more issues with weight and carrying gear, more realistic indirect fire issues (ie aiming stakes etc.)

    Just keep dreaming big....


  9. Tried this system and all I can say it is way to complex. There are a number of boolean errors that are popping up and I cant get the map clicks to work. I can set 1 say point and that is it. The shift and alt keys dont seem to do anything. Im trying the Nogova mission BW_Battle.noe. Way too confusing to use.

    And you have experience firing m4's with us made PAC4's? Exactly

    do you allways complain about things negativly

    Is there a positive way to complain about things?

    Anyway, I've updated the scaling of the base M4A1 model, and in the coming days/weeks will continue work on the models. For now, I am going to work on the theory that I can't get Proxies on weapons to work (without a sample model config I can't) so will make the seperate models. When Oxygen 2 is released (hopefully soon) as well as more information on model configs (and getting proxies to work on weapon models), I will cross the bridge of making the proxy models for the different optics etc.

    In the meantime, her are some new screenshots of the M4A1 showing the updated scaling and positioning.

    Scaling is way better. Wish we could see this in OFP.


  11. HI Jackal

    Love your weapons but something always doesnt look right. Either your gun is scaled too small or the human model is scaled too big. Do you notice this. There is definitely a size difference between your stuff and say Lasers stuff. Even in the pic above your weapon looks small as seen relative to where the hands are.


  12. By the way, has anyone tried this with DAC?

    As i see it, SLX & DAC would be the perfect combination, but im not shure if that is possible since DAC uses its own AI.

    I actually use SLX with WGL, DAC, and CoC arty and it works fine. You have to be on your toes because the enemy open up on you at range with tracers flying all around and dust everywhere. Good Stuff biggrin_o.gif

    Just make sure the units you are using that DAC creates are WGL units.
