  1. Sorry Tank maybe not. Had the same issue when I had Win XP and upgraded from the European version to 1.08. ArmA finally worked fine with my Soundblaster X-Fi with the nVidia 8800GTS 640 meg card only AFTER I upgraded to Vista but not on Win XP. So far my suspicions for my situation are either a faulty base install of Win XP (new system and installed by the tech pions).
  2. Hi mate, Nah - not a cheater - using standard .exe. I have since installed Windows Vista Home Premium, have patched windows to the right patching level and have set windows to only use 3 of the 4 gig and the game now runs fine with patch 1.08. Must have been something kooky with the XP settings somewhere.
  3. Hi Yoma, Am running XP (sorry will update first post). How do I get around the 4 gig memory that I have. Is there a way I can trick ArmA into thinking that there is only 2 gig (if this is the correct amount)? When I double click the ArmA icon on the desktop all that happens is that the cursor momentarily hourglasses then returns to normal. There is not an error message given and have also checked the windows logs but nothing shows up there also. This is my second install from scratch so there are no mods. The game works up to patch 1.05 then ceases after the international 1.08 patch is applied.
  4. Hi mate, Thanks for that BraTTy - I renamed the ArmA directory to no effect. Have mailed 505 for support again in the hope that someone might get back to me.

    Arma Rebooting PC on startup

I suspect that the problem is with the 1.08 patch - ref my post earlier. Hardware should not be the cause of the issue if ArmA worked prior to 1.08 being installed - that being the only moving part in the equation. I have mailed 505 last weekend but have not even had an email confirmation of my support request. Being in Australia I might have to call the UK to badger them which really p1sses me off. I hope ArmA 2 does not contain as many issues as its predecessor. Just as a reference point, EVERY game I own works on my new rig except ArmA with patch 1.08.
  6. Unfortunately no message was displayed and it appears as though ArmA does not create an error file. Also have not overclocked the CPUs or vid card.
  7. Hi all, Have just applied the latest patch so that I can get into some MP action but immediately after the patch has been applied, I double click the start icon, the cursor hourglasses for a moment then ArmA just does not start. Sys Specs Dual core intel 3 gigahertz, nVidia 8800 GTS 640 Meg driver 1.6375 4 gig of ram. Direct X 9.0c OS: Win XP SP2 I have updated the nvidia driver to the latest non beta version. The game was running quite well when it had been patched to 1.05. I have also uninstalled and re-installed the game, then progressively patched and tested. Has anyone else had this issue?
