It's possible, as you can see on this short video : http://www.dailymotion.com/cwmod/video/11316541 To me, the biggest problem is : making the dust created by the vehicles white. There is an easy way (with different manipulations) to turn a "summer" island to a winter island (this one is the "Applegate Lake" from Opteryx) since you have the sources. I could explain how to obtain the same result if somebody is interested.

Roads are gone after the island is binarized
datakill posted a topic in ARMA : MAP EDITING (VISITOR)
Hi all, everything is in the tittle. I did follow the different tutorials and created some roads with the road network tools using some "asf" and "ces" parts from BI sample models. Everything looks fine in bulldozer, even when the island isn't binarized. Once the ilsland is binarized, the buildings and roads are not shown on the map. Ingame the buildings are there but not any part of the roads. What the..... -
Still working on it Maybe I should start my own thread though

90m CSI-SRTM Data Via Google Earth
datakill replied to opteryx's topic in ARMA : MAP EDITING (VISITOR)
Awesome ! Thx for this one. I'm going to use it right now. -
Hi, I see exactly the same kinds of textures when I try my map ingame. But to my opinion, it's not a big deal as you'll have to add manualy the grass, sand, and other textures the same way you'll have to add the vegetation. I hope i'm not wrong and maybe Opteryx will tell us if I'm right.

Roads not visible in visitor 3
datakill replied to Nicholas Bell's topic in ARMA : MAP EDITING (VISITOR)
My problems are changing every minuts now......going crazy The terminator file used was : asf6 This one was invisible, another one works fine: asf25 But now, as i'm adding pieces of the road, the second part is linked to the terminator, then the third part is going over the second one. I can't link it. I built a road 2 days ago and everything was fine. I'm currently following the "Linker Split" tutorial. -
Roads not visible in visitor 3
datakill replied to Nicholas Bell's topic in ARMA : MAP EDITING (VISITOR)
Kinda. I'm not sure the problem was there as the path goes back to small letters all the time. In fact, that's the termination road (at the start) I can't see, the others parts of the road are shown. -

Roads not visible in visitor 3
datakill replied to Nicholas Bell's topic in ARMA : MAP EDITING (VISITOR)
No, it's not binarized, as I'm able to open those files in O2. I wrote thet i've never extracted the roads.pbo from the arma folder, it's all from visitor rc3 Edit: I've found the problem. The object path was: P:\ca instead of P:\CA Be really careful with capital / small letters -
Roads not visible in visitor 3
datakill replied to Nicholas Bell's topic in ARMA : MAP EDITING (VISITOR)
Hi all I have exactly the same problem: roads are invisible in visitor. The main difference is: I 've never extracted the roads.pbo from the arma folder. They are all from the visitor install and not binarized. The path is correct. I'm getting confused again. -
Can't see the satellite layer in Visitor
datakill replied to datakill's topic in ARMA : MAP EDITING (VISITOR)
Got it ! Why not going forward even though you see a problem ? lol Thanks again -
Hi all, first of all, big thanks goes to opteryx for his tutorial, I would never start to edit Islands wihtout it. I just followed the tutorial and everything works fine except one thing: How can i see the satellite layer in visitor to add the roads and all that should match with reality ? It's not shown there. Except that, everything works fine though, the satellite layer is shown in bulldozer and even in the ArmA mission editor as i made a test before starting to add objets and all. This is confusing.
