Ethnic cleansing is never a fun thing

Huh? Meh, I was afraid of this. Any time a war is mensioned it seems like everyone has an opinion about it they'd like to share Just because its a memorial in America for Americans doesn't mean it doesn't hold significance for other people. I predict as many Germans as Americans will probably come to visit, both sides having seen somthing they hope never happens again and trying to make amends to the other side once the nationalism and propaganda fizzles out and they see the true aftermath. While its sad that the Germans might have been fighting for a doomed cause, that doesn't change the fact that they can redeem themselves. It's a WWII memorial, not a 'GERMANY AND JAPAN SUX' memorial.

ATI's generally been faster at Direct3D apps, while Nvidia's held onto OpenGL. The Radeon X800 series is slipping a bit though, it's only real advantage is that it's faster than the 6800 while using AA and it runs Farcry a little better (Nvidia's been talking to the devs about this, mostly about implementing PS 3.0).

They're like freaking cropdusters sometimes I, for one, can't wait for the new 4-engine replacement program to get those fog machines off there.

Are we intel owners forced to buy new motherboard
drewb99 replied to Albert Schweitzer's topic in OFFTOPIC
Things haven't been going Intel's way lately. Tejas was cancelled, Prescott's flopped, and BTX isn't going along too well with mobo manufacturers. With all the wacky corporate flip-flopping going on, I'd just wait until you need a new system to worry about all this stuff. -
I bet they're rocket-powered flares the Air Force uses to distract everyone while the Aurora flies between bases.

They indeed look like flares to me.

I can't say I'd be suprised if Matrix Online is packed full of CG

Pictures can be a max of 100kb.

Meh, I'm not too sure about what ATI's got cooking. The R300 core's been the workhorse for 3 generations now, and while it's a good core it's not going to be top dog forever. Before the R300 ATI was a reletively unsucessful company too, and unless they really put on a show I'll still somewhat consiter them a one-trick pony.

The 225 was built for the Buran shuttle, not the 124.

Let's hope by that they mean the hardware will last a decade, except even that sounds a bit unbelievable

Movies have been mostly cookie-cutter for the last 30 years or so, I don't see anything perticularly bleak about the future of gaming.

Hopefully they get everyone off so we can enjoy some fireworks

I've seen a house and a scuba diving school built into old silos, that'd be a pretty cool place to live

Me says get an Athlon XP Mobile 2400+.

Jesus, Rambo 3 was more historically accurate than that

eh, bound to happen... I saw the full ad on ABC this morning, made me want to throw my shoe at the TV

I'd go with an A64 3200+ (not that I'm biased or anything ) and just do some simple overclocking to get it up to 3400+ speed. The A64 3x00s also run circles around the Opterons and FX-51 in terms of desktop performance as well, you'd save a bundle getting one of those.

Star Trek Bridge Commander, no? http://www.intelligamer.com/action/solesurv/sole03.gif It might not be what you think it is

Pop open your BIOS and see if you can loosen your memory timings a bit, and make sure it's running as it should (my K8V sets RAM to a 1:1 ratio by default, so my PC3200 was running at ~200mhz for the longest time without me noticing ).
