Schedule A common question we receive is in regards to our schedule. Our large scale events are held every weekend, both on Saturdays and Sundays, at 2000 EST and last about 3 hours each. Each element within the unit also conduct their own smaller scale trainings, occurring at least twice a month, at times that are suitable for the members of that element. Below you can find what a typical month would look like (all times are in EST): Age limit Due to our determination to be the best at realism, immersion and professionalism, we have elected to implement a strict 18 years old age restriction for all unit members, without exception. Dual clanning We understand the desire of our members to be in multiple units that strive for differing playstyles, and allow for dual clanning only if the secondary units are not also modern military realism focused. The requirements of units such as ours are more demanding for the above reasons, and as such a player joining 2 or more modern realism units at the same time will inevitably have to choose one or the other eventually due to time constraints, and we would rather not put members in that position to begin with. We hope all prospective recruits can understand our reasoning on this aspect and respect this rule. Background The 506th IR Realism Unit was founded in late 2014 and has conducted hundreds of events across Arma 2 and Arma 3. Many of our members are veterans and active duty military from around the world. The primary focus of the unit is light infantry combat in ArmA 3 utilizing real to life tactics, techniques, protocol, and communication. The core of the unit is based around light infantry platoon task forces with a small amount of supporting assets. Unit Goals At its core, a realism unit is a role-playing unit. We strive to promote an immersive and professional environment for members to role-play in by providing a unique and structured military experience. When in-game, members are expected to act as if they are on a foreign battlefield or in a domestic training environment. For these reasons, the minimum age to join the 506th IR Realism Unit is 18 years old. The goal of the unit is to always balance the realism with fun. If members are not enjoying the experience, then there is no point in the unit existing. When there comes a point at which a decision between the two has to be made, we always have to remember that this is a game and we are here for entertainment, and we may from time to time err on the side of fun.
