    Lambs: "Had Radio"

    aj :-)) Please, does anyone have any idea how "had radio" works ? With Lambs, the reinforcement function is magical ! I've tested some different scheme and it's amazing to see away units joining a fight. Same for the "register artillery" thing. It works great with AI mortars with no line of sight and suddenly shooting from 500meters behind a hill to a squad of infantry inside a building. But what about "had radio" function ? Does it allow for example a GRAD-21 to fire from 5km away ? Of course if both "register artillery" & "had radio" is activated ? For now; just from my small experiments, I can't tell the difference. But for sure it does. THANKS ! 🙂

    @major-stiffy first; thanks. But are you certain it'll solve my problem ? What you posted here is weather & sound related mostly. At least vanilla environment. And I'm not even sure about those fireflies...I'm new and didn't experiment the game much. -I'm talking about the ones glooming at night, not the buzz thing around cadavers. In your link: I can see rabbits, fish, birds...and rain, wind, weather related. Here's two things I found, but again, I've no clue if this about my problem. thx !

    🔫simple. Is there a recent mod to do so ? I'm looking for something easy to use. No with ace or completely re-working the game mechanism. pretty frustrating sometimes to put 4, 5 or 6 bullets in AI. Body armor are just way too much thick on just some basics uniforms...Even could happen with headshot. If there's something else that just editing all armor value, or wound every units in editor...well thanks

I'm very new and didn't touch any config or script at all. I spotted the "bug" not during a scenario, but in the editor. Nothing on the map except one of my bugged tank facing ennemies IFV and shooting on his feet. The scene happened on the airport field; precisely because I was testing my new downloaded vehicles before putting them in a scenario.

Aj, I noticed few of my vehicles engaged ennemies in a strange way; so I ran test, putting vehicles in the airport field with direct line of sight, no elevation... -One tank from the UAF Vehicles Pack (T-84 Oplot M) seems to shoot himself. It's hard to explain, but it goes like this: The muzzle flash went, but no HE is fired away. Instead, the tank looks hit just below the gun/cannon. There's an explosion right in front of him, that comes from his shoot. -Same thing with Russian Vehicles But With Improved Textures, the self-propelled artillery 2S3M1 "Acacia" is shooting, but the explosion is just in front of him. Just as if it comes from the driver's seat. In both cases, no vehicles in front of them can be hit in any way. I've tried with 10 VS 1, it's bugged. Obviously, same problem, two different mods...So it must come from somewhere else. Does any veteran here have a guess ? t(h)anks...

    Orshanets terrain 12.8x12.8km (Ukraine)

    @Shelestov aj ! Like many, I'm impressed of your map. I understand you now moved to Reforger; I understand this was a WIP. Please correct me if wrong: -The latest of your Arma 3 Orshanets map is about the size of 1.6 Km. This is the dev version right ? -So please, why is Orshanets referred as a 12.8 x 12.8 Km map ? Is there a way to get this wayyy biggest map ? My thoughts was like...well, the dev version must be the latest, and the biggest obviously. thanks ! 🙂
  9. aj 🙂 please, keep it very simple, I'm absolutely new to this ! -I placed an OPFOR AT Guns on a field. And some BLUFOR infantry vehicles 400 meters aways, then 600, then 800. And just...nothing happened...I've noticed that the gun needed to be manned by a crew of three, so I added two others guys to it. But, yes, nothing. All of them having GPS, map, binoculars...So it's not vanilla implanted to AT Guns to shoot at IFV ? -For Mortars: Same problem. The difference is: When linked to my team, they successfully target where I asked. Otherwise, they don't do it alone. thanks everyone ;(

    2 questions about AI Radio !

    mmmh...it seems the situation is much complicated to solve than I expected. Too bad really; that such a feature wasn't already in the game. I'm sure it will add some realism to team's working / bounds. At least, giving use of any true radio operator in this game will be a great and easy things to do. -Especially when the area of operation is 250km2 as it is in Arma... So @phronk 🙂 Do you have any tips for this script you were talking about ? thanks !

    2 questions about AI Radio !

    does anyone have a clue for this ? -How to reflect the lack of radios by the AI having a lack of knowledge about my exact position ? it's strange this is not already implanted in the vanilla game. No radio + no GPS + (let's say 600meters distance or more) = the AI should not be able to regroup to my exact location...

    @nkenny does anyone have a clue about how the radio works ? How a group "share" and how it works with artillery ? Does radio affects units eligible for reinforcements ? This reinforcement tool is a gem; thus I don't know how it works...

  14. aj ! 🙂 1) It seems that even if my AI team doesn't have radio; when sending them away, like 800 meters from me, when asking to regroup: they found their way back to me immediately. HOW TO MAKE THEM LOSE SIGHT WHEN THEY ARE NOT IN SIGHT OR "EYE CONTACT" ? It seems more realistic that a squad unequipped of both radio & GPS will lose sight of teammate when too far away. 2) In case there's a way to make them loose "contact" / "line of sight" with the rest of the team; then: DOES A TEAM UNEQUIPPED OF RADIOS WILL BE ABLE TO RESPOND AT A REINFORCEMENT TRIGGER MADE BY RADIO IN EDITOR ? thanks a lot !
  15. Aj 🙂 in editor; I put myself as team leader. the group is only myself and AI. I unequipped both of us of the radio: AND YES, i noticed that right after this, the orders come in a "voice" like sound; and not a "radio" one. i also noticed that the AI is not saying "ennemies 100 meters..." anymore. Because realistically, he's no more bound to me with his radio. BUT THE TRUE PROBLEM IS: WHY ? WHEN I SEND HIM AWAY, LIKE 800 METERS OR MORE... WHY DOES HE FOUND ME RIGHT AFTER I ORDERED "REGROUP"; FOUNDING ALL HIS WAAAAAY BACK TO MY POSITION. What I want is make him lose sight of me. Just as it should be in real life if two members of a squad were really far from each other. His icon effectively indicate "far" when he regroups, but that's not what I want. I really want to make him lost. SO IT WILL FORCE THE TEAM TO HAVE RADIOS TO MAINTAIN CONTACT. My first thoughts was: "well let's just unequipped both of us of that radio. And then, we should stay like 200 meters from each others to communicate" but that's not what happend. also...IF YOU CALL REINFORCEMENT BY A RADIO-TRIGGER: IF THAT TEAM YOU CALL DON'T HAVE A RADIO...THEN DOES IT WORKS ? thanks a lot !
