Well, well, well ... johnnyboy keeps delivering awesomeness. Who woulda thunk it? Crazy thoughts, right? ๐ I was very happy with SOG AI as it started. I am personally VERY happy with SOG AI as it stands ๐ I'm sure I'm not the first to wonder if we might see SOG AI for the Spearhead 1944 CDLC??? (I know it means a 5hitload of work for you jb) That would bring that rather interesting CDLC into SP wonderland. In any case, thank you for your continuing, and increasingly mind-blowing, additions to the SP game!!! Ultimate respect to you, good sir! You are keeping this game alive for so many of us. Cheers, maqim

I'm running out of superlatives, johnnyboy ... I clearly need to improve my vocabulary to the same extent to which you have improved the SP experience. I've got a long way to go ... Thanks again, man ๐

Heya johnnyboy! Awesome news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was really hoping that you'd make SOG AI compatible with "Welcome To The Border" but didn't want to bug you since you're so obviously busy improving the SP experience in so many ways. Big thanks to TheLazyDugong31 for requesting it and to you for implementing it ๐ Seriously ... thanks, man! A dream come true ๐คฉ And Forgotten Few 2!!!!!!!!!!! This is another one of those awesome mods that's let down by BI's AI. Not any more!!! SOG AI - the gift that keeps on giving ๐๐๐

I'm in a similar position as you - I've never played that far into Old Man. Great map and concept but not executed particularly well, IMHO. Especially when you think about all the community created stuff like Antistasi, DRO, Forgotten Few, etc. Let me put it this way: Anywhere you are able to get SOG AI working is a huge bonus to the SP community. HUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGE!!!!!!!!!!! And Old Man would be improved out of sight by that. But it sounds like a helluva lot of work ๐ฌ

O ... M ... F ... G ... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOG AI is like the best acid. Every time you think you've hit the peak you discover that there's more to come ... Thank you for what you do johnnyboy ๐

As usual ... just when you thought it couldn't get any better ... a problem you'd never even considered is fixed ... johnnyboy to the rescue ๐

Hi folks, I've been searching for an answer to this, but I can't seem to find it. Sorry if there is something obvious I'm overlooking. I only have 12 rep myself. Is there a certain amount of rep I need to have before I can add rep to other community members? If so, how much? I want to be able to add rep to people for certain posts but don't seem to be able to atm. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the situation completely. Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers, maqim

Just had a quick crack on Eldest Son 1. Don't have time to complete the mission tonight, but I have to say, the new features are fantastic! Loadout change especially! Next level stuff here, sir!!!!! Can't wait to try on non-SOG missions also. ๐๐๐

How Do I Add Reputation To Another Community Member?
maqim replied to maqim's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Oh, OK! I've been doing that. If that's all there is to it then all is well. Just thought the "+" next to reputation might enable adding rep, but doesn't seem to do so. Thanks for answering, sir. I feel about as dumb as usual ๐ -
Thanks so much for this update, johnnyboy!!!! Haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but if it does what it says on the tin (and I know you wouldn't release if it didn't!) then things just got even better for SP ๐ While all of the new features are awesome, the "change loadout" thing is something I was really hoping for - I was about to start digging through the files to see if I could modify initial loadouts to include a few more silenced weapons. You've saved me from borking the mod ๐ Thanks for your continued work on this wonderful addition to the SP experience ๐

TPW MODS: enhanced realism and immersion for Arma 3 SP.
maqim replied to tpw's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Heya mickeymen, Let's think about the real world for a moment, instead of just the gaming experience: I you and I were having a full-contact martial arts, no pads, sparring experience and you kick or hit me in the correct spot on my body, I might fall down completely. I will be unable to respond to your attacks for several seconds, may only be one second, but that's enough. I may even die. You can then decide whether to kick me while I'm down, or jump on top of me and grapple me into submission, or feel bad (or not) for having killed me. Same is true if I land such an attack on you. These kinds of mods are trying to simulate something that ARMA doesn't do by default. So: If I receive a bullet into my arm, or leg (or torso), it has a PHYSICAL impact. It is a PHYSICAL attack (like a punch) but from a distance, and far more devastating under normal circumstances due to the piercing abilities of projectile weapons. Even if I'm wearing body armour that stops the projectile from entering my body I will feel the force that the projectile has imparted to my body/body part. The same is (or should be) true of my opponents. Body armour does not negate physics. If I shoot an opponent in the shoulder it SHOULD cause them problems for AT LEAST one second. And I should experience the same if my opponent shoots me. That's what these mods are trying to do. Otherwise, there's always COD:Whatever the latest reboot is ... And I post this knowing you are a longtime ARMA player and regular poster on these forums. No offence intended, bro. I just think you should reconsider your use of such mods if they make you feel the game is not "full on" enough. Cheers, maqim [EDIT]P.S. Part of the point of body armour is that when it works, the person who has been shot experiences something like a ridiculously strong punch rather than having a projectile enter their body and tear them apart internally as it exits the other side of their body. And that "punch" can take time to recover from, and may do internal damage anyway. [/EDIT]- 5767 replies

Thanks, man. This is exciting!!!

Thanks for the response, sir. It would be amazing if that drill could work, but as is, this has transformed the SP SOG:Prairie Fire game in a way that other methods couldn't. I used to play a game called Vietcong many years ago - my favourite FPS ever ... until now. The SOG:Prairie Fire DLC is amazing but lacked the SP playability many of us want from time to time. THIS (SOG Prairie Fire w SOG AI) is now my favourite FPS ever. Thanks, man! Your work is mind-blowing.

Heya, johnnyboy, I remember watching this Immediate Action Drill video almost a year ago and being very excited. For anyone who hasn't seen this vid, you should definitely check it out. In the video you mention you were working on a script for player control with hand signals. I assume this amazing SOG AI we now have is the fruition of the work you were doing then. I was just wondering if or how the script from the video is incorporated into the SOG AI mod. Like, the leapfrogging and "tailgunner plant mine" commands exist in SOG AI, but just wondering how this all ties together. How do we utilise SOG AI to achieve a similar "break contact" result? Thanks again for this incredible addition to the SP game ๐ Cheers, maqim

Now THIS sounds very interesting! Reckon I'm gonna give it a go. Thanks again, feller!

Just ... ... ... WOW!!! This is perhaps the greatest SP AI fix of all time!!!!!!!!! Stunned!!!! Thank you muchly, johhnyboy!

TPW MODS: enhanced realism and immersion for Arma 3 SP.
maqim replied to tpw's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hey tpw, Awesome! Wasn't sure if it was intended behaviour or what, or whether to bring it up. I know that the HLT display doesn't care if Bleedout is loaded or not. Anyways, GYSGTTALOR's post seemed like it might be related to this thing. I was scratching my head for a couple of weeks and then decided to dig into the mod folder properly - you know, actually READ the provided documentation for a start!!!! That gave me the necessary clue. I also discovered how customisable the HUD is - still trying to get my head around the positioning, but I managed to reorganise the module layout to my personal preference. I must say that I was looking at the Y positions of the modules and thinking to myself, "Why are the columns positioned to the right the same X but slightly different Y values for each row?" ... Then my head exploded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice!!!!!!!! People just don't realise how much thought has gone into this, I suspect. Hats off to you, sir PS, and this is JUST the HUD we're talking about ... mind-boggling ๐- 5767 replies

TPW MODS: enhanced realism and immersion for Arma 3 SP.
maqim replied to tpw's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
hey mate, I recently had an issue with the hud not working when i was trying to set up a hud only config. Here's what I discovered: If you have the TMP display enabled and you disable FOG the hud will fail to display. TMP gets its info from FOG. If you remove TMP from the hud then it will show up while FOG is disabled.. So the options seem to be: If you want the TMP displayed you must also run FOG otherwise no HUD at all even though it loads. If you donโt want to run FOG but you still want the HUD then you have to disable the TMP display in the HUD. Not sure if Iโve explained this clearly and not sure if this is your issue, but hope it helps.- 5767 replies
