Thanks Sparker. The player base would definitely be a show stopper and would be rather extremely boring if the player base was poor.
I had thought about this and had a few ideas on how to overcome this issue.
Short vague list of my thoughts coming at you:
Make squad members playable AI.
Possibly leverage the ALIVE mod (or something comparable) to control playable AI commanders/squad leaders as well as control objectives.
Most of the work on the project would be dealing with making the AI stuff work (imo).
And at this point, it would basically be a single payer game mode with the option of multiplayer.
And not discouraged. I enjoy dabbling in the Arma modding/scripting world and have spent many, many, many hours messing around with different things.
The scope of this one, however, lead me to post here to see what the community thinks.
I appreciate the response and I will certainly check out the projects you mentioned.
