The number of independent MMORPG developers exploded in the last few years, thanks to the huge success of a few MMOs, and there are 3 projects I'm following more closely: Crowfall (time-based PvP campaigns, complex crafting, territory conquest, city building), Camelot Unchained (3-realms, large-scale battles, block-by-block construction, ability creation) and Dual Universe (single shard universe, millions of player per "server", voxel-based terrain, player-made spaceships and cities). They're all now in Beta and should launch sometime soon.
