    Picking up my Arma3 Exile MP server again, after many years... I know Tha_Sharks mod is still active as B@co only updated it in Steam Workshop less than two weeks ago. As an utter novice again, I have spent two full days trying various ways to call in the sharks within 3den (where they always work fine) including questionable attempts at creating triggers, to no avail. Edit - After more testing trialing.. I DO have them spawning on the map using a trigger... but they totally ignore players and swim off to north.. they actually become 'land sharks' and swim up and away on land lol think that's more about the custom map than the code though. Still need a little help in getting them to be menacing presence. Thanks in advance for any insights
  2. Am actually on holidays visiting my son, so had to remote access PC back home... just finished attempting the suggested fix for CUP issues via http://cup-arma3.org/download, github version this time... updated keys etc... still receiving the same response as OP. Any other ideas? ;)
  3. Hey torndeco :) I did try the download from CUPs org site as well, just to be sure. I have experienced the not working, made no changes, now working phenomenon which is Arma or Steam.. or somebody! lol But thanks for the heads up regarding steam workshop, I will give it another crack tomorrow and hopefully the 'tada' moment happens! ;)
  4. As HeroesandvillainsOS prompted above, pja310 (otherwise known as G.O.S. Al Rayak) is a map by GOS_Makhno, which is dependant on CUP_terrains to render Arma2 objects that are within the map. (map link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=648172507&searchtext=) I know "something is not playing nice" due to the recent CUP updates, I have spent almost 3 months building up a server around this map (has me at my wits end already ) which is why I was hoping that someone here knew how to work around this issue, so I can still use the map and not have to start from scratch which would induce a meltdown on my behalf! lol. ;)
  5. Have had this issue since updating server CUP files today.. it has killed our server.. I have reinstalled the trio of updates several times, from 2 different PCs to ensure not a corrupted file... anyone know how to fix??? rpt log message: Addon 'pja310' requires addon 'CUP_Worlds' Thanks a million to anyone who can shine some light on a fix.

    That is pretty much what I am after, I know there's a script for random dive loot called BigfootsShipwrecks, if I knew how alter and/or do all of that I would be smashing it on the server! lol.. I really don't know scripting at all, as much as I've tried to read and read... and read, the many forums and posts over the past few months, I am still left scratching my head... Which mostly comes down to time.. and patience lol. If I can figure how to do your ideas down the track, I will def give them a crack. thank you for your ideas! :)

    Yeah I'm running a hosted dedi with a bunch of scripts and mods all fighting for leg-room.. For now I've removed the 500 fishy elements... placing just 4 sharks at permanent locations. I did notice the movements weren't as fluid when spawned from triggers, but it still works good. I like tha sharks! (see what I did there?.. yep its late here ).

    I hope it is OK to ask this question here, I apologise if it's not... I was wondering if anyone would know of a script/code to use to call random shark spawns across a map.. at the moment in editor I have 250 sharks synced to 250 triggers (and trust me you would still be safe swimming as the 50m areas don't add up to much for that count)... this would be problematic as, I kind of know where they are and would avoid them, while laughing maniacally at my son if he swam into them ... outside of that I am pretty confident the server would have a meltdown! As much as I am trying to learn how to do, well, anything on an Arma server.. I'll be the first to put my hand up and admit that I am struggling with a lot of it. Any advice or help would be much appreciated.

    Bushmaster PMV A3 [WIP]

    I sent a PM to Mr P1inga a while ago, I'm not sure if it is better to post here, sooo here goes..... I was wondering if this mod could be placed up on the steam workshop, I am more than happy to do all the doings.. and I will ensure full credits given everywhere, or follow any wishes etc. I know there is an Auspack , containing this mod on the steam workshop, but it has missed adding the Bushmaster PMV A3 BIkey file into the pack. Which is need for people playing on my server.. else they get kicked. I know people can download the Bushmaster mod from the dropbox & armaholic, but a lot of newer players don't venture outside of the main steam environment, or possibly we will miss out on a new player joining just over not being able to easily DL the mod via the game itself. I am keen as, to have this added to our server... it's a really nice looking mod and it performed beautifully in SP testing!

They're beautiful recreations.. well done and thank you again!!! :D :D :D Is there any chance of having a BIKey added to the keys folder at all? Unfortunately I cannot run your mod on my server without this little thing.. well I can, but no one can join, without the BIKey file, they will just be repeatedly kicked. Thank you for any help. :)

    I am soooo excited about this mods release!!! .. hehm did someone say release date? lol Ron and Valerie Taylor (google them lol) were my childhood idols, I don't know too many 5yr olds, back then, that wanted to be marine biologists let alone knew what one was... and Jaws was one of my favourite movies as a child (scared the poop out of me which I think began my fascination with the critters)! Having read through this forum I can see many differing views and think it's a great idea to have a system where shark attacks can be altered from sedate fishy-is-your-friend to blood-lusting man eater, which should appease ALL wants and needs... personally I would like the sharks to, somewhat randomly, attack players in the water, or be somewhat chilled at other times... a menacing threat! Then I could drop primo loot crates in some locations and have sharkies to 'safeguard' the crates... or even have the sharks be a more cautionary deterrent to players just heading straight out to grab underwater loot crates without a care or fear. I noticed it's mentioned above that the Great White Shark is using scripting from Feints Sharks. I have been trialling Feints mod on my server and they haven't attacked me once, its meant to be between 10-25% chance depending on time of day, but I'm yet to see any "fishy" behaviour, it really needs to be adjusted for people who want the pure ambient wonder or an interactive threat! Can you do that??? If that is at all possible.... omg we're all in shark heaven!!!!! N.B. Feint has teased that this could be adapted into the scripting at an undisclosed future time with "The attack coding is not modifiable. But it's a good idea. I will look into making that something that people can set themselves". Fingers crossed it happens!
