    Getting the same problem here, very frustrating, I can't seem to diagnose why this happens. FIXED IT, in the controller menu click at the top, it will select an invisible object, this is your controller. Click disable and it will move up into the top box, then set the scheme of the controller to XBOX360. You should now be able to remap the contoller.
