this is strange, because ive taken a car skin out of exile mod and change the .paa file for the lada and its actually changed the skin for me.

p.s, ive created my own mod and its loading into arma fine, everything is exactly the same as in the arma directory other than i have simply changed the .paa file with an edited one.

hey guys, been fiddling around with a mod i downloaded just trying to get to grips with changing textures... right so ive taken out one of the .pbo files out of arma directory using pbo manager, ive created my own mod using that .pbo and in doing so i decided to take out one of the vests in the mod and edit the .paa and change its color. but when i load it all into arma and select the vest, it comes up as the same skin as the original camo vest. bare in mind that i have deleted the original .paa skin file for that vest and replaced it with mine, would i need to change anything in the config even though everything is still identical (name of .paa is the same as the original vest that i took out) other than the actual skin? im a newb so any help appreciated thanks.

i did actually start watching those tutorials but in the second vid hes actually doing something completely different and doesnt explain how he has done it all he goes from importing a helmet texture in p.s to cutting up a vest and doesnt really help in terms of what you need to do and know.

well im a total newb so do you know where i can find a good intro into all of this? i am able to get skins into photoshop and change them to how i want other than that i have no idea how to get them in game.

any advice on how to do this?

also any good links or advice on how to create the coding to implement this into a friends server would be awesome

hi there, im trying to test skins for vests as i make them, im using the editor in arma 3 and im new to all of this, i only seem to be able to place skins onto uniforms and im using the code (this setobjecttexture[0,"item"];) but it only seems to skin the uniforms... i tired changing the number '0' to 1,2,3,4,5 but that doesnt work so what am i missing? i think that explains how new to it i am. thanks lol
