    I actually got it working by creating the init.sqf file and placing it along side the fireflies script in the mission folder. I guess whatever works. Thanks again EO

    If your calling the script from your players init, just edit the numbers from there.

    Take a look at the script again and look to the "spawning" section to understand how they are spawned....

    
    // Spawning 
    25 = tpw_firefly_radius // Firefies will be spawned within this distance (m) of player
    5 = tpw_firefly_time // Max seconds between spawning each firefly/swarm
    50 = tpw_firefly_maxflies // Maximum number of fireflies around player
    5 = tpw_firefly_swarmsize // Maximum number of fireflies per swarm (must be less than tpw_firefly_maxflies)
    0.1 = tpw_firefly_largeswarm // Chance of a large swarm (5 X tpw_firefly_swarmsize) spawning near player. 0 = never, 1 = always

    For more small groups as per your request i believe you will need to....

    Increase "tpw_firefly_maxflies" (default is 50)

    Decrease "tpw_firefly_swarmsize* (default is 5)

    So try this in your players init...

    
    0 = [4,18,5,25,5,75,3,0.1,[250,220,100],0.8,0.05,1,0.075] execvm "tpw_fireflies.sqf";

    This will increase the maximum number of fireflies around player to 75, and decrease the maximum swarm size to 3.

    I think this should help....

  3. How do I make my mission survivors recruitable? I think they have to be on the Blufor side? Also if I play as civilian no one seems to shoot at me not even opfor raiders. I have my mission set so indep is not allied with anyone. I'm playing on tanoa atm and some times the loot models spawn upside down.

     

    If u guys get a moment please try ravage with these 2 mods. Bcombat-V.0.18 and TPW-MODS "using tpw mods for the fog,  mist, heat waves, fireflies script, soap, and fly; I disabled civs/crowd and cars and all the ai stuff as I'm using the bcombat to make raiders and indep far more deadly in combat cause u know this is a survival situation"

     

    Also traders would be cool too I seen the script above and that looks fun. I'd like a trader town or even tent city. 

     

    I have noticed that sometimes zombies don't spawn much even with the ambient zombie module set with sun setting to allow them to spawn during the day. 75 zombies. 275 radius and sun settings to No. I may get like 25 in a town at a time. Does it matter how big the town is? There may be a conflicting with either the tpw mods or the bcombat mod but have noticed the zombies like forming lines and wandering roads. Someone check that out for me please.

    Possible bug

     

    Loot models like the luggage model seem to spawn upside down on tanoa.

     

    Kinda silly to see the model upside down. Had a bit of a laugh. Thought I should report it.

    Edit: how do I get my mission to allow me to recruit survivors? Is it with the ambient AI and the renegades? What do I have to do?


  5. Hey everyone. I'm looking for an addon or module or script that allows me have animals spawn. I've googled this and I found a mod that allows placement of dogs and chickens cows etc. But I would like to either have a module or script that will spawn the animals at random but have a limited number of the animals so I don't over load the engine or crash the game. Can anyone help me out or direct me to the link or something that allows me to do this please.

    Ok I think it has to do with the Loot module and the prop spawner. I think the prop spawner us what's doing it. I also notice that the models appear to clip through floors and walls most of the time. Cool feature tho.

    Possible bug.

     

    When I'm playing or testing my custom made mission. Some of the loot locations are spawning metal buckets, fire extinguisher, white water container.

     

    I am using all CUP add-ons,  ravage and ravage apex, cba, niarms core and AK pack, arma enhanced movement, blood mist,  arma nature, real light 7, a couple others I can't remember atm.

     

    Couldn't be issue with CUP?


  8. Also I need a skeletons and skulls/ tribal object mod for my mission. Maybe some creepy blair witch project stuff. Creepy skull monuments and bone trees. Anyone throw me a link or something? The skeleton and skull the editor gives me is not pretty enough and I don't know how to make objects.

     

     

    Edit: when my mission is complete I will release it for everyone to play. A strange survivor encampment deep in the jungle is scary and extremely deadly.

    Also Haleks if I may request: zombie difficulty or more damage per hit please. Possible slider or 1-10 option. 1 being very easy and 10 being extreme hard. Definitely need a zombie difficulty slider or system/module support. Please.


  10. Dear Haleks. Possible bug with the ambient zombie module and zombie horde module. When I place a zombie horde module and configure it to my liking it aapears that the ambient zombie module does not spawn zombies. Do these 2 conflict when entering a town or settlement. For example: I place the ambient zombie module and configure it to spawn 75 zombies per player. Then I place a zombie horde module in a nearby village or town with about 50-75 zombies with the default values of radius and such. I have noticed that the horde will spawn but not the ambient zombies. Not sure if bug. Also have noticed that even without the zombie horde module the ambient zombies tend to not spawn sometimes. I increased the ambient zombie module count for zombies per player and descreased the spawn radius. But am having issues spawning zombies. May I please have this looked at. Thanks.


  11. dear Haleks, i think i found a bug in the tanoa demo mission,  my character can't seem to look straight with his gun and the crosshair thing seems to spread really far apart then my guys gun points down and to the left even tho im trying to look straight. this happens after a bit of gameplay, it seams to fix the funny bug when i load and reload the mission or a save file.

     

    Like for example, after exploring for a bit and getting loot and a nice gun, the guys gun tends to point down and to the left even when i hold the right mouse button to aim down iron sights. i think this bug may have been present in the altis demo mission as well, im not sure has i never encountered this bug on the altis demo mission.

     

    Also another possible bug, when i use the editor with the ravage modules and i go to play my mission, i cant seem to use the scroll wheel to recruit survivors, maybe i did something wrong with that portion of one of the ambient AI modules or maybe i have to script it in? not sure.

  12. Ok so i have managed to have this done, Thanks to Evil Organ here on the forums, Thanks man!

     

    notepad++ was fun to play with lol

     

    anyways i have a couple minor issues with the script, i have noticed that the ground_fog has random pop ins and pop outs when the fog is close to the player, also at night it becomes illuminated on the sides of the player with the flashlight, kinda wierd not sure why its doing that, would anyone know how to fix that? also how do i increase the distance in which its viewable from the player?

     

    idk how to enter a spoiler to show u the script that was used. I had to fiddle with some digits in the notepad++ to get it thicker which was nice.

     

    any kind of response or a grunt regarding this would be helpful

  13. I could do that for you....but it's much more rewarding to try it yourself, especially if you want to create some super cool missions. This video covers the basics.

  14. Hey there eveyone! my name is Caluu and i am a SUPER noob at the arma series and the editor program.

     

    I am building a mission for myself to play and i need help with creating volumetric fog/ground fog. I am extremely inexperienced with scripting and mod making and coding and all that Jazz.

    Here is an example of the fog effects that i am after:

    if there is anyone who knows how to create this effect for me in a file or a mod that i can download i would greatly appreciate it. Also please show me how to implement it into my game. Or maybe make a youtube video about how i can do that? I am a simpleton when it comes to this stuff so please PLEASE help me out, by writing the thing for me cause ill just screw something up.

  15. Hey Caluu...for SP scenarios, this is still my favorite fog script....looks damn creepy around Georgetown.

    Edit...if i recall the original A2 script might even have been used in one of haleks DayZ SP missions, but i can't 100% be sure....twas a while ago.

     

    i do not know how to create any sqf files, i am very inexperienced in scripting and coding. Could u possible create the file for me then i can edit the times that the fog would start and end. Pretty please thats the type of fog im looking for. im just super noob and inexperienced with this sorta stuff.

  16. dear eden enchanced users, i am SUPER noob Caluu, and i am very inexperienced with the arma series and the arma 3 eden editor, im trying to build a mission that has nice ground fog/ volumetric fog, how do i use this mod to achieve some cool fog effects?

     

    i feel that the fog the editor gives us is far to unrealistic for my tastes, i have seen videos where i can have the fog in low laying valleys and hills and have the hill tops clear of fog. If someone would be so kind as to make a very detailed youtube video on how to use the editor and the eden enhanced mod to creat awesome fog i would greatly appreciate it.

  17. HI everyone! Im SUPER noob Caluu!

     

    im building a mission with the ravage mod and some others. I know this may not be the proper thread for this but i want to ask you guys cause you all seem very knowladgeable in this portion of arma 3 and its editor.

     

    I want to add volumetric fog/ ground fog, i have fiddled with the fog settings in my editor program and i feel tht the fog they gave us isnt wht i want, i have seen videos of ppls game play where they have GREAT fog, now how would someone like me "SUPER noob" do this, do i need to write a simple script with the weather system to have the cool ground/volumetric fog?

  18. The "default/ class is not a protocol" error may stem from RHS mod.......are you using RHS?

    Taking damage from zeds while climbing ladders is being fixed in the next update.

    i am not using any of the RHS mods for my game.

    EDIT:: hey guys/gals, i have a question, how do i get my edited mission made with ravage to get a group of raiders to come and investigate the "smoke" from the inital start point?

    also i want to make a friendly blufor base some where in the map tht has the occasional zombie attack, i want to place blufor military units that patrol the parimiter and occupy the buildings and like walk around and stuff, i have watched youtube videos on this, but everytim i try to use the blufor "site" system thing they all stand around and spawn with a truck, i dont want the military truck to spawn and i want to make the units patrol around and then if they see zombies they will shoot them, please keep in mind i want the zombies to randomly attack once in a while. also keep in mind i am SUPER noob Caluu and i am super inexperienced in this portion of my mission im making, once its complete ill let others try out my mission file and see if they like it.

  19. hey guys, im getting an error something like this : "default/ class is not a protocal" that isnt exactly wht it says i tried to remember. im not sure whats causing that, happens whn im playing the demo mission and even whn i play the one i made with editor.
