Where do you find APDS ammo for the GM6 Lynx please?
Agent_Orange replied to Agent_Orange's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Thank you Maquez for your help , however, whilst it accepts what I am typing when I go to check for the ammo , it is not there. I have tried to add 5 Mags to myself as well as trying to add 5 Mags to a AAF Basic Ammo box - no success with either. Not sure why this is not working for me, I am wondering if it has anything to do with the version of the game that I am currently running (version 1.42)?- 13 replies

Virtual Ammobox System (VAS)
Agent_Orange replied to tonic-_-'s topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I could use a hand getting it up and running on a Linux OS. I can follow the first two steps but have no idea about the last step listed below : You will also need to drag the stringtable.xml in the root part of your mission where mission.sqm & init.sqf are located. Unfortunately, I do not know what a "stringable.xml, mission.sqm & init sqf" are or where I would find them. I have checked both the MPMissions folder and the Missions folder but only found a text file advising that this is where exported missions will be saved. If anyone is already using it and can help me get it up and running on a Linux OS that would be great and very much appreciated (I kinda like using the Lynx with the APDS ammo) Thanks -
Have any of you Linux users installed VAS (Virtual Ammo Box System)? I could use a hand getting it up and running if anyone knows how to do it. I found instructions here : https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/140303-virtual-ammobox-system-vas/ And followed them to the point where I reached the final instruction : You will also need to drag the stringtable.xml in the root part of your mission where mission.sqm & init.sqf are located. Unfortunately I cannot complete the final instruction as I do not know what a "stringable.xml, mission.sqm & init sqf" are or where I would find them. I have checked both the MPMissions folder and the Missions folder but only found a text file advising that this is where exported missions will be saved. If anyone is already using it and can help me get it up and running that would be great. Thanks

Thanks Percieis but it does not work for me If I paste ["5Rnd_127x108_APDS_Mag", 1] into the initialisation box I recieve an error message "Type array, Expected nothing". Typing addMagazines ["5Rnd_127x108_APDS_Mag", 1] produces an error message "Missing ;" Typing addMagazines; ["5Rnd_127x108_APDS_Mag", 1] produces an error message "Type array, Expected nothing". Pasting this addMagazines ["5Rnd_127x108_APDS_Mag", 1] does not produce an error message , however, when checking the ammo box for the APDS ammo it is not there. I am not typing in what is needed but do not know what that is.- 13 replies

Leaving a game without a functional multiplayer component for several months is not ideal, I am expecting the job to be done sometime before Christmas and will be disappointed if it is not.

Thanks for your response, it leaves me wondering what the point of porting ARMA 3 to Linux and Mac is (other than a grab for cash) when we do not get BattlEye Anti Cheat with the game and therefore have no (save but one) servers to play the game on, and by the looks of it - cannot go and hire one yourself to play on either. There may well be a point to all this and things may change for the better, but right now I don't see it and without an update from Bohemia sometime soon, this game is going to end up in the bin (there is no way I am changing to a Windows OS in order to play a game).

Hi all, I am looking for some assistance with hiring a server that runs version 1.42 of the game and does not have the BattlEye Anti Cheat system in place. I contacted GameServers.com as I saw that they have at least 4 servers currently running version 1.42 of ARMA 3 and thought that it would be simple enough to contact them and hire a server for us Linux & Mac users to play on, however, the response I received from GameServers.com was as follows : The response I received has left me a little confused (i.e I am seeing their servers running version 1.42 but they deny that this is possible????) In any case - would anyone here know of a decent server provider that has an outlet located in Australia that would be able to assist me with getting version 1.42 up and running? Also, would anyone know why people would be running version 1.42 of ARMA 3 on a server that also requires the BattlEye Anti Cheat system when the Linux & Mac ports dont have it, and therefore cannot access those servers? Thanks for any clarifictaion and/or assistance that can be provided.

Hi all, For those looking to play multiplayer I have found a server that does not require the Battleye Anti Cheat System to play on. Server details as follows : [MG] Militia Gaming Linux 1.42 The server is based in the US and runs coop missions to locate and destroy enemy targets. Hope this helps for people thinking that we will not be able to play the multiplayer aspect of the game until it is updated.

Hi all, I am wondering if someone would know if (and possibly when) the BattlEye Anti Cheat System is going to be added to the expiremenatl ports? The reason that I ask is that when taking a look at Multiplayer for the first time I noticed that there were a few servers that are running the same version of the game. The problem is that each time I joined a server that is running the same version of the game I was kicked off within a minute becuse BattEye client couold not be found, it seems that without Battleye present I am not going to be able to play multiplayer at all, regardless of the server version. Thanks for any assistance and clarification.

Hi all, I am both new to the forum and the game (downloading it as I type). I am currently not able to start a new topic so thought that this would be the appropriate place to say thank you to both Bohemia Interactive & Virtual Programming for making this game available on Linux. People state that porting a game to Linux is not worth the developers time, and that may be true, to some degree. As far as gaming is concerned, I look at Linux as an open frontier in that a development team would have very little in the way of competition (i.e you are not going to be competing with the likes of Battlefield & COD for market share) The only game I have played and liked (sorry War Thunder) on a Linux OS so far is Wargame : Red Dragon from the French development team, Eugen. It is a cool game but does not compare to a game like ARMA 3. So again, I say thank you for taking on what I can only imagine would be a big task that has any number of issues to overcome, bravo Bohemia Interactive & Virual Programming...*tips his hat*. Anyway, armed with Linux Mint 17.2, an i7 4770k that has the indicator-cpufreq applet set to performance, an ASUS B-85M-G motherboard (set to performance) and a ASUS GTX660 with the Nvidia X Server Settings set to "prefer maximum performance" I am thinking that my rig should be able to handle the demands of the game (could do with a better graphics card but it does sit between the minimum requirements and the recommend requirements, in any case, if it blows up after 10 minutes of gameplay I will simply buy a bigger one!) and that once it has finished downloading, I should be good to go. PS If anyone has any tips or information that could be handy for someone playing this game via a Linux OS I would love to hear from you.
