    Not really - movie sounds are of themselves pretty bad, plus you have the atmospheric effects layered on by the producers of the movie. Good suggestion though!

    They're just place-holders for the time being. We're aiming to get as much of our own content in as possible, but for testing, we needed some placeholder sounds. The above was a WIP test - and I think we've worked out the AI likes the German stick grenade! :D

    Steam is not the problem. Power hungry communities where the leaders immediately take ranks like 'General' are. Used to be in a community which had 200 players and 6 staff grade general officers, and another 25 officers on top of that. Everyone else was an NCO. In that community, 'rank' becomes the be all and end all and they shat on everyone below them for that reason, even those who had actual military experience and were attempting to help them. Unsurprisingly, shitting on people regularly drives players out to form their own communities which split into smaller and smaller units until you get LOADS of tiny communities and no co-operation between them. Because of this, people drift to Wasteland as they can't get a decent game, starving the larger Domination and Mission servers of players. Servers that do get player numbers are also occasionally swamped with administrators who have paid/donated/applied for admin positions, not people who actually know how to administrate, meaning that they also lose players due to people throwing weight around. If you want someone to blame, blame the communities that force people out, blame the bad admins who force people to congregate on a tiny number of decent servers (and even those have being going down hill lately) and blame the Life/Wasteland players who want to shoot everything that moves regardless of uniforms or tactics.

    There aren't enough units that are purely armour focused. Go that way. Just be aware that the reason so many units are so homogeneous is membership - I speak from experience when I say it's possible to niche yourself out of play.

    No Devblog this week chaps. I am super super buys releasing something called the 1939 Register with a company called Findmypast, so the historical consultancy for that is taking forever. Normal service resumes this Friday with Historical Blogs.

    Nice to see Brit stuff! However, a few pointers. Your 37 Small Pack appears to be both horrendously under-loaded and too large. It's missing the groundsheet from the flap and the proportions are off. The closing straps should not descend below the bottom of the pack. What you've actually modelled there is what looks more like a Large Pack - the carry bag for the Greatcoat, which remains on the Platoon Lorry unless you're in FS Marching order. Attached is a reference photograph, to help you. Your battle bowler looks about right, so far. Keep pushing on. I sincerely hope you're going to change the colour however! Your SMLE is a bit short. In addition, you're doing Normandy, yes? The SMLE was not carried in large numbers, having been phased out for the Lee Enfield No.4. It is different enough in that people will notice. Picture attached. Otherwise, looking good. I have a particular interest in all things Brit, particularly during WW2 as it's my specialism/what I do for a living :P Will be following with interest.

    Thanks Pal, we are trying pretty hard to get our stuff out there! :D And even if we don't get everything in we want, a few of the other mod makers appear to have come out of the woodwork on similar projects, so the community will have something WW2 at the end of it :D
