Thanks @Major_shepard, I've figured out a workaround so i don't have to give the creds using the autoconfig file.

I'm trying to create a repository with a non dedicated server, just using the ftp server. I can create the repository on my pc then upload it to the server in it's own folder but when i put in the public auto-config url i have to put the username and password. where do i put the auto-config.a3s.autoconfig file? i don't have access to make a user just to have read only access. If someone could shed some light on this that would be awesome. I'm renting a server from gameservers btw if that helps
