maverick6 10 Posted July 15, 2010 Hi all. I just bought Arma2 OA and Arma 2. I'm now playing Arma 2 CO with latest patch. But everytime i try to launch multiplayer, the game stuck. Sometimes i can see ( after 5+ minutes ) a list of different servers, but still i can't use any buttons ( game doesn't respond anymore ). Wtf... ? :(
Arksa 10 Posted July 15, 2010 Firewall/antivirus issue maybe? Have you tried going to windows when it freezes and check if firewall is whining about the game trying to acces internet? Just my guess, but I had a certain freeze when I pressed the multiplayer button and there it was, my antivirus asking me questions in the desktop.
maverick6 10 Posted July 15, 2010 In fact, it's pretty much the same issue as here . I tried with antivirus turned off, firewall execption checked on for arma 2 oa etc... I can sometimes get back to the console by pressing ctrl alt suppr, but there's no antivirus questions... And I often had to reboot windows, being unable to get back to deskop while arma 2 was crashed.
Taxman 10 Posted July 16, 2010 might be worth checking that Battleye is also being allowed by your firewall (some of the guys last night running the patch had a similar problem) they tabbed out to find windows firewall causing it.
maverick6 10 Posted July 16, 2010 I reinstalled arma2, then patched it to 1.05 and then 1.07. If i try to acces multiplayer section, arma 2 says i've to update to 1.7 version and then freezes... ( firewall turned off or not ). I also opened ports 2302 23021 23022 23023 without any results.
SWAT_BigBear 0 Posted July 16, 2010 (edited) If your using Vista or W7, you may want to install games "as administrator", also run them the same by right clicking the icon. Even if your using XP, all games will do the same when clicking multiplayer 1st time, Windows firewall should have a pop up behind the game asking for permissions to allow the "exe" to access the internet. LoneRegister 10 Posted July 17, 2010 I found it was a problem caused by my USB headset. Unplugged the USB headset and the game ran fine.
