pellson 10 Posted July 8, 2010 Hello! When i try to install the betapatch for OA (71.900) it tells me before install this: "To uninstall the patch, you need to uninstall whole game". Since I use the Steam version without a disc and have a slow internetconnection, I don't want to download the whole game again if I wanted to remove the patch. Isn't there any other way to try it without having to reinstall the game afterwards? Thanks!
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted July 8, 2010 Install the patch. To delete the beta, just delete the "beta" directory it creates in your ArmA 2 directory. I dunno what Steam does but I imagine it's in the Steam/steamapps/common/ArmA 2 (?) folder. DO NOT USE THE BETA UNINSTALLER. Mayhaps some Steam'ed up users can confirm this. pellson 10 Posted July 8, 2010 So I just have to delete one folder to uninstall it? Then why does the uninstaller say I have to uninstall the whole game? :) Wierd.
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted July 8, 2010 (edited) Ignore the uninstaller - it says you have to uninstall the whole game because it is pure and utter evil. If you use the uninstaller, it will remove the entire game (or at least several critical components). Therefore, DO NOT. All you have to do to delete the beta is delete the "beta" folder created in your ArmA 2 directory. :) EDIT - I see you've installed an OA beta patch. The beta folder will most likely be in: Steam/steamapps/common/ArmA 2 (?)/Expansion/beta Edited July 8, 2010 by CameronMcDonald
