twobells 0 Posted July 7, 2010 I know this seems like a newbie question and perhaps it is but I have been having some difficulty id'ing the enemy. Is ID based purely on their combat dress? Many thanks in advance
TonkaToy 10 Posted July 7, 2010 Moving your cross-hair over soldiers/vehicles and pressing the space bar will identify them on many of the multi-player servers.
kylania 568 Posted July 7, 2010 Kill 'em all! Or just shoot anything with a weapon. ID'ing can be really difficult. Especially if you're at range with nothing more than a close combat weapon scope.

Stinger2 10 Posted July 7, 2010 Id'ing the enemy is crucial in Arma 2, People won't like it if you teamkill. I'd say easiest ways to ID and enemy is "The" Weapon, aswell as headgear, the OPFOR a.k.a pakistan forces have an russian like helmet (an egg formed) which is extremely easy to spot. Also a tip about ghillie suits OPFOR uses a half body dressed ghillie unlike the americans who uses a full body ghillie.;) First post yay ;D
sparks50 0 Posted July 7, 2010 Use binos if your unsure, and check the map. The best tip is to never shoot unless you have a good ID.
EDcase 87 Posted July 7, 2010 Yep, this is one of the many things that sets ARMA appart from other shooters. With time you will learn to id targets better visually and also by weapon sounds too. (Bit annoying when changing sound mods ;))
Murphe 0 Posted July 7, 2010 Yep thier appearance is the main give away, best to make sure you always have binos or a rangefinder if you don't have decent scope. Also ask yourself where the enemy should be coming from or whether there should be friendlies in that area. The map may also tell you if they are a friendly depending on the mission or difficulty setting.

Noraf 0 Posted July 7, 2010 don't forget to use coms, that way you also easily can get help with id'ing a target ;) The ingame voice aplication is pretty good, and a lot of servers runs their own teamspeak servers aswell ( usualy they let you know in the message of the day text that apears when connecting to them )
