I used to get my little 3 inch army men, who werent very detailed, but very cheap(100 men=$1). and id litterally be playing with thousands of men at once in my backyard. And id use a combination of fireworks, rubberbands, and model rocket engines, to make an array of artillery and small arms fire. For example, id put firecrackers inside plastic tanks and blow the turrets 10 feet in the air, or light pinestraw bunkers on fire with flamethrowers (lighters) and see all the little army men slowy melting away.

Oh, you were not alone! That is why I had to buy fireworks for about 50$ every year (hell lot of money for a little kid).

Should have challenged yours, it certainly would have become a hige battlefield!

(BTW I also used little Napalm bombs to melt them away)

yeah, but the vehicules were like too good to melt them away. Either you took the one from the neighbour kids (they always left theirs somewhere in the forest behind our house) or you build one yourself with paper and plastic-isolation-glue, they blow up perfectly. We made films with self-made models (hell they looked real) of the Yamato and Bismarck and slowly blew them up on our lake!

LOL, yeah, I remember having those plastic soldiers. The green ones and the yellow ones (British units I believe) always acted as Allies and the grey ones as Nazi's. Then I'd play out WW2 with my friends, completely with the 'atritions of war' (eg soldiers with their arms molten and stuff)

Hehe, the imagination 9-10 year old kids have. biggrin.gif

EDIT: About the Godzilla pic, maybe the soldiers turn him on confused.gif

I WANT THOSE!!

I got several 12 inch soldiers made by 21st century toys.

They are among the best 12 inch tall soldier producer in the world, only beaten by Blue Box in my opinion who use real metal.

They are soo realistic looking in real life, I had some standing in my room and they look like real soldiers standing there and as if I am watching from several miles away with bonocs.

I reccomend you get some.<span id='postcolor'>

not only they have metal weapons but each doll also has mechanisms in their heads that allow you to make custom facial expresions, i dont know exactly what you can move, maybe close one eye to make it look like they are using a scope or jaw movement to make it look like they are yelling orders or something. the detail is so great just look at the ranger pic above, take a look at his boots, they have laces in them and his harness acually has those little clips that snap together, pretty well done. that ranger and the swat member are ones i would like to have. i think they have a german police counterpart of the swat there at the site too.

oh yeah...good old days.....

i enoyed those cheap soldier models, but i gotta admit that i got bored quite quickly....

luckily, i had a toy gun that has some spring powered barrel, so i used to put small pebbles in it and fire it off and try to hit objects. and if i had chance, i'd go with my firends with similar toy and run around in a small forrest with a hill. biggrin.gifsmile.gif
