llama_thumper 0 Posted July 3, 2010 any way to change, permanently, the default name of the server I create? It always pops up with my machine name and my username, when in fact I want the server to be called differently. where is this set?
volkov956 0 Posted July 4, 2010 You can only dictate a server name for a dedicated server so far that I know of
gossamersolid 155 Posted July 4, 2010 There's no way, it only takes like 2 seconds though. If you host a server so many times, why not just set up a dedicated?
bloodxgusher 10 Posted August 20, 2010 Well if you host a non dedicated mission off your computer of course you can change the name of the server. Just hit multiplayer, "New" button at the bottom right. Here you can change the name of the server, port number, give a passoword and cap how many people can join. The only thing I don't know is how to get your Arma and Server cfg files to work this way.
luap 10 Posted August 24, 2010 (edited) Has anyone set up a Non dedicated VISTA game and been able to join ? I asked this in this post: Non - dedicated Vista Well after much testing it seems to be a Vista problem ONLY !Xp Works without a hitch. Testing I did: All ports added as required, Checked with UAC on and off, checked Vista firewall and all is listed (ports opened). This is for using machine as server and Client (not concerned with lan) to show up in ArmA2 game browser. As I said above - Xp works without any trouble at all and shows up in game browser. Just testing using the process of elimination. Edited August 24, 2010 by luap Added text.
