Metal_Mills 10 Posted July 2, 2010 Hey all. I came across some screenshots of games that were downsampled. Some were Fuel, Mass Effect 2 ect and they looked really, really amazing. I wanted to try this out on ArmA 2 for some screenshots but I don't really know how to do it for this game. I found a tutorial for fuel but doesn't help me. How do I use downsampling in the game? Thanks.:)
NeMeSiS 11 Posted July 2, 2010 I think you just want to use the 3D resolution option in the graphics menu, just put it higher then the other resolution setting.
MavericK96 0 Posted July 2, 2010 Not entirely sure what you're referring to here, but I think you mean changing the 3D resolution to be higher than the Interface resolution, which you can easily accomplish in ArmA2. Just got to settings and make the 3D resolution higher than the Interface res. EDIT: Beaten by NeMeSiS. :P

I think you meant up-sampling as that would do the opposite: running the game in a higher render resolution which is often unplayable... exactly what Nemesis is referring to. They probably just look at it the other way around: Rendering res downed to display res. Though that doesnt make as much sense. :p
Grizzle 0 Posted July 3, 2010 If an image is rendered at a higher resolution than it is displayed, downsampling is the appropriate term.

I'll try it out then. Thanks. :) Using the wrong term. Down-sampling would make an image look worse as the purpose of down-sampling is to cut data size. This is the kind of thing I mean. http://deadendthrills.com/guides/look-good-modded-fuel/2/
