sampat1 10 Posted June 30, 2010 I recently upgraded systems to play Arma 2 on higher settings...this is where the pain starts. First time round Arma 2 installed fine but I was having real trouble patching it so I formatted my drive and started from scratch. However when I now try to install the game I get an error message at the end of the installation saying 'Directx failed to install' and when I start up the game I watch the opening titles then the game CTD. I also copied the CD files to my hard drive and ran it from there but it wouldn't install at all. Windows 7 64 bit i7 920 6gb ram HD 4890 The game is from 505games, off Amazon UK All the drivers are up to date. Any help would be much appreciated as I am sat here with a new computer in and endless loop on reinstalling and uninstalling. Thanks Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Placebo 29 Posted July 1, 2010 Just Directx11? You need Directx9 installed as well. The game runs off Directx9 not 11.
