Interrogating for memory points and bones

Hi all,

Is there a way to interogate objects for their bones and memory points?

Do you mean in scripting? Please be more specific.

The only scripting command I know of is selectionPosition, which you give a named selection and it returns the position of it (at the selection's center) in model coordinates. Not sure if that's what you're asking though.

You can also query configs in scripting, but I'm not sure if it works (or how for that matter) on model.cfg's, which is what contains information about bones and stuff.

Seems to me he wants a command to get a list of bones (I don't even know what those are :)) and selections (which I do know what is), and yes, it would be really helpful sometimes.

Show me your selections and memory points (and bones?), and I can try them instantly to find the attachTo position I want. That selection name translation table helps, but it would be a lot faster if you only had to look through what the model actually had.

CarlGustaffa has nailed exactly what i want: using attachTo to connect to vehicles memory points so that i can simulate recovery operations.
