volkov956 0 Posted May 14, 2010 Playing OFP on my 400MHZ PII with 256mb Ram and Surprisingly a Matrox 8mb card and it ran well..... till we started to play MFCTI then the upgrading madness went on for years till i found the sweet spot for the 4 systems and SErver for MFCTI P2 -> ATHLON XP -> A64 -> Dual Core AMD -> E8xxx series what an expensive upgrade cycle lol but it made getting into arma 1 easy and arma 2 even easier And remeber thats pretty much 5 systems x that gear.... lol Bohemia games are the reason i upgrade
walker 0 Posted May 14, 2010 Hi Celery I have always considered BIS's OFP and ArmA and ArmA II as one continuous process, just ArmA II is more of the functions I wanted in OFP and and a few less of its bugs. There is a big chunk of the community who have been here since OFP and consequently our first experience of ArmA II was BIS's OFP. I do not make the errors like standing up in the middle of road blazing away in ArmA II like I did when started in OFP. I learned the concepts "I am up. He sees me. I am Down" and taking aimed shots from OFP, there was no experience of these aspects in ArmA II because I had already learned them and those basics remain the same in all version of the Real Virtuality Engine. Kind Regards walker
