Sling Rope and Stretchers

Recommended Posts

Hello!

In the true art of Blackhawk Down, I was wondering if it would be possible to put an unconscious friendly on a stretcher and sling the stretcher onto a blackhawk.

Currently I've got a pilot (who is supposed to be unconscious) called pilotman. There's a trigger placed on the map which says:

//CONDITION:
alive pilotman

//ON ACTIVATION:
[pilotname, 999999] call ace_blackoutall;

Oh and before you say it, I tried setting him to blackout for 0 seconds. He just goes prone and gets back up. Works for players (makes them unconscious with no timer), but not for AI.

I've been searching everywhere but I can't for the life of me find the classnames for Sling Rope and / or Stretchers, but I know they both exist. Also, if I had a stretcher and a sling rope on hand, would I be able to put the unconscious unit on the stretcher, sling it and pick him up with a chopper?

Cheers!

The class names are for ACE2 stuff, here's the Dynamic config for all that stuff. Sling ropes and stretchers should be in here.

Oops! ;)

I can't find the stretchers, not sure if they work yet. Someone asked about them in the ACE2 thread but they were never answered.

The Slings are under the magazine section I believe.

Yep I was testing last night with a few friends and this is what we've got going so far:

  1. Approach unconscious pilot
  2. Use the Self Interaction Menu and select 'Place Stretcher'
  3. Use the Interaction Menu on the pilot and select 'Drag'
  4. Use the scroll-menu and select 'Load #PILOTNAME# into ACE_Stretcher'
  5. Use the scroll-menu and select 'Get In' the front of the stretcher
  6. Another player uses the scroll-menu and selects 'Get In' the back of the stretcher
  7. Unit at front walks to extraction point
  8. Drop stretcher near the chopper
  9. Look at pilot (on stretcher) and, using the Interaction Menu, select 'Attach Slingrope', using a Slingrope I already have in my inventory
  10. Chopper rises to a head-height hover over the stretcher
  11. Man still on ground (who attached slingrope to the pilot) looks at the Chopper, but no 'Hook Slingrope' option appears

We can get everything up to there working absolutely fine, but like I said, no 'Hook Slingrope' option appears. We also tried lifting a civilian car (a GOLF I believe), which went absolutely fine using exactly the same method.

Maybe it's just not possible to lift the stretchers?

BIG EDIT: I don't have access to ARMA right now, but Manzilla - that update was today, right? Maybe they've added in the ability to Sling the stretchers! Woohoo!

I absolutely can't wait to test it! Can anybody here test it for me?

Stretcher classname: ACE_Stretcher

Slingrope classname: ACE_Rope_M5

Hey man that's awesome, any chance you could paste the finished thing up here as a base for other's? I know for a fact that I'd use something like that, sounds killer :D.
