Could I have your help please?

Eventually it might be better you get a complete new and up2date computer instead just exchanging the card. In the end of course it depends on how much money you want to spend.

Yes learning the many controls and combination's surely take a while to learn. However you can customize many of them in the game options to something you can remember more easy.

The break button is there: The 'S' key (move backwards) is also the break in vehicles.

I'm sure there are a couple of squads out there in which they use proper military tactics and cut down the talking to absolute necessary parts. The majority of gamers here have either none or only basic military background and just want to have fun.

Ah the s key, I didnt think of that. I am looking at mice, to try and find one with the most buttons on it. One handed I am ok, when it comes to using the mouse and keyboard at once, dont hold your breath.

I have found out that this keyboard is a gaming keyboard. I bought it because the keys have lights in them which is a must for me. I think it is G15. Now that I look at it, it looks like a computer in itself. It has extra keys and keys that you can use as programs. We have found the book and it seems that you can store a combination of commands under one button. Macros they are called. I will get the grandson onto that. I wonder if this means that you press one button and it might result in running to the right 50 yards, going prone, firing two shots, getting up and creeping 50 yards and so on. I think if you can do this you can just sit back and watch the game.

I am enjoying learning about computer games in general.

I have an idea for the next version of this game based my comments about talking too much. This might already exist, I dont know.

OK you form a team and you can all talk to each other, hear each other at the same time. The other team does the same, I am pretty sure thats how it works.

You cant hear the other team.

So what would it be like if each team could hear the other if they were too close or too loud? You could also have a apiece of equipment in the list that can be used by a Sapper. A scanner, listening device, directional mic, multi channel radio or similar.

There you go boys! Only a couple of weeks and Ive got ideas for games I havent really played yet.

Am I on the right track or has the silly older fool no idea that this is already available?

Well as a matter of fact, the game does have the option for Voice over Net (VoN), which allows you to use a microphone to talk to other players in a multiplayer game. Many players also use a program called Teamspeak to talk over the net. Though, this is not quite what you suggested because it doesn't require the use of a "radio" item in-game.

I believe the ACE mod actually has options for equipping various radio equipment, and there is also a mod called ArmA2TS which links Teamspeak to ACE and has various short- and long-range transmission options through the in-game radio equipment.
