Setting up an Exploration server?

Recommended Posts

I just bought the game a few days ago and have been trying to figure all the stuff out.

I was wondering how I could set up a server so me and my mate can explore the big map? And maybe put some vehicles in there as well.

Thanks.

- Patch the game to the same version as your friend.

- Start up the game.

- Click "Multiplayer".

- Click "New".

- Give your server a name and possibly a password (and choose internet for internet play, or if you are behind a router and don't want to forward ports log into the same hamachi room as your friend and choose LAN). From this point onward your friend can connect to your server.

- Choose and island and << New - Editor >> and click "Play".

- Save your mission (give it a name). Every time you preview the mission it'll be automatically saved but you cannot preview without giving it a file name first. Don't include spaces in the file name.

- Place whatever you want in the editor. Make sure to place stuff as "playable" (or place "playable" soldiers and empty vehicles by choosing the "EMPTY" side when you place the new unit).

- Hit "Preview".

- Click whatever playable unit you want to play and have your friend (who should connect now if he didn't already) do the same.

- Click "OK".

- Play... And when you want to change stuff go back to editing the mission and play it again...
