Guest Posted April 11, 2002 AEG? But that is for plastic bullets, right? The Co2 guns I'm talking about shoot lead/steel diabolo bullets. That is you don't shoot at people with them, but they are great fun for target shooting. Soft Airguns are toys, co2 guns are not.

Renagade 0 Posted April 11, 2002 AEG stands for air electric gun or automatic electric gun ,something like that. They fire 6 mm plastic bbs and in the UK the power of an AEG must be below 1 joule of energy unless u have a section 5 firearms license.Single shot guns have a higher limit. Regular bb guns(though airsoftguns are called bb guns too) fire lead or steel .177/4.5 mm bbs CO2 guns use liquid co2 instead of compressed air or a spring to shoot out the pellet or bbs. As far as i know both bb guns and co2 guns fall under the same law here in UK and are all classed as airguns.12ft/lbs is the maximum limit to which ur allowed an air-rifle and 6ft/lbs is the limit for pistols u can get a firearms license for a more powerful gun also i think its illegal to carry a loaded clip for co2 gun but im not sure on that one. An odd law is that if u have a airgun thats over the legal limit it is automaticly classed as an illegal gun(not that there is any legal handguns in the uk now) for example u have one person with an airgpistol thats at 7ft/lb and another with a say handgun 500ft/lb upwards???,i dont know the exact energy levels a real gun spit bullets out, and both get caught by the police then they both get charged with the same law for having trhe gun. So theres some trivia for u,if i got anything wrong then someone amend it
