Air Craft Carrier

Recommended Posts

ok. you know at the beginning of the ARMA2 campaign, where you start on the big air craft carrier? how can i get that into my mission editor and to actually float on the water so i may have it as sort of a base.

If you are making a mission on Utes it is in the south west corner-ish.

Otherwise if you go to armaholic, I believe there is a script you can use to spawn the carrier for other islands

Mate, please don't take offence but....what do you expect to get if you call a script you don't have?

Now for serious. Open up the editor, either chose an island on which you want to create your mission or, if you already started with, open your mission. If not already done, save as user mission (not export) and give it a meaningful name.

Now open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer...don't laugh, happens more often than you might think) and search for the mission folder. Ususally you'll find it here:

C:\Users\Myke.home-PC\Documents\ArmA 2 Other Profiles\[GLT]Myke\missions\missionName.islandName

Inside this folder there should already be a file called mission.sqm.

Download the script and extract/save it in this folder also.

Now you can use the line as you've seen it. I suggest to create a init.sqf script from which you may call such initializing scripts.

Creating a init.sqf can be done with Windows Editor or Notepad, just make sure it doesn't save it as init.sqf.txt

FYI: init.sqf and/or init.sqs (second is outdated and shouldn't be used anymore although it still works) is called by default when mission starts and doesn't need to be called explicitily. If it's present, it is executed.
