specific trigger condition

I saw a thread a while back that was doing something similar, but I can't find it.

But heres what I want to do:

player drives up near an IED with his team in the humvee, and within 50 meters one of the teammates calls out "stop stop stop, ied 12 oclock, fifty meters" or something like that.

I would like the trigger to randomly pick one of the team mates to give the warning, but not pick a teammate thats already dead. So I'm guessing it would look something like this:

(if !alive (tm1) then tm1 say "iedwarn1") or (if !alive (tm2) then tm2 say "iedwarn2") or (if !alive (tm3) then tm3 say "iedwarn3")

I know thats not the right syntax but that is basically what I'm trying to accomplish.

try with triggers.

1st trigger:

Condition: ! (alive tm1)

onActivation: tm2 say "speech"

2nd trigger

Condition: ! (alive tm1) && ! (alive tm2)

onActivation: tm3 say "speech"

and so on.

Do you want to use a custom soundfile or do you use an already existing ingame soundfile?

In case you want to use a custom soundfile then the soundfile must be declared first in the description.ext otherwise the game won't recognize it.

I don't know how familiar you are with sounds in ArmA especially with custom sounds. In any case there are plenty of helpfull people around to help you solve your problem. The more information you give us the more likely somebody can answer your questions.

Yeah, I got the sound files and all that in the description.ext.

But the trigger will be activated when blufor enters the trigger.

The player will be in a humvee, with his teammates, but some of them may have died in a previous battle (this will be later in the mission) so I don't want a dead guy talking lol.

So basically how do I get this to work if one guys is dead the trigger will just go to another soldier down the list if the previous is dead?

Try to give the group a name for e.g. wgrp1

and then try this command

group leader wgrp1 say "speech"

Don't know if it works honestly said and unfortunately I'm not able to check it myself right now.

I have different sound files for the different members from the team, so that wouldn't work :/
