Hello all I have been playing OFP of and on for awhile and although I loved the SP I often had problems with the MP being very laggy for me. Im sure that this is probably a problem on my side so I am currently patching what I hope is up to date.

My question is this. Does the Red Hammer expansion have anything in it that is needed for some of the MP aspects of the game or is it solely for the SP experience. While I loved the original I am poor right now and unless it is needed for MP I will probably need to wait until I am paid again.

You don't need Red Hammer for playing online. It's just a campaign, it doesn't have any new islands or vehicles.

also, here's what you could do instead of waiting for the Gold version

get a regular OFP.(not gold edition)

then download 1.30 patch from download section on www.flashpoint1985.com

also get 1.30=>1.46 patch.

install first one(1.30) first, and then the latter one. If yo uhave DSL, you are set for OFP. playing MP in 56k modem is not recommended...too laggy(i have modem)

also, when you install OFP, they will ask if you want to install GameSpy. This is supposed to be some sort of MP helper. But if you are looking for Dedicated Server for OFP. i suggest that you download All-Seeing Eye from UDPsoft. I think it's www.udpsoft.com
