only those 2 will not do, to make a face, you need to select 2 more vertices. :

Then you can make a face by pressing F6 :

Or if you want only a triangle instead of a square face, select only 1 of the 2 additional vertices from my example

Ahhh thank you, ok I was wondering why I could create 3D objects but in 2D it wouldnt work.
