overkill 0 Posted April 5, 2002 When I used to play a race sim online a few months ago, we would post a notice about getting together with others to play online via the forum. It seemd to work really well. Usually, when one wanted to host, He/she would  post an announcement stating that he was thinking of hosting an MP game that day, tomorrow or whenever, and the approximate time. It also helps when others knew what time zone the host was referring to. When the time came,he would announce the i.p. address in the forum, start up the game and the people would start filing in. We usually picked up quite a few people this way. If there were any questions or problems, we would alt/tab back to the forum and check in to see what the problem was or whatever. We should also include vital info as to what type of game, map and time limit. After the game, the host could either post another message with the time, saying that another game is starting up, or simply state that the games are over and the i.p is offline. After the games, many people would revert back to the post to comment on the game, how awesome, how shitty, what was funny, etc. I'm not sure if the moderators will allow this forum to be used like this, but I think we ALL know how frustrating it is to try and find a good ofp online game. I think this will help all those out there that need a good online game on a consistant basis. I know I do:) That being said, I am formally announcing an invite to those who would like to play online this evening. I will check back periodically to see if anyone is interested.. I.P. ADDRESS: TBA TIME: 5:30PM, PMT GAME: CTF MAP: ?? ANY SUGGESTIONS?

<span id='postcolor'> never heard of r/w being used that way.. but i'm sure it works. some people do not have icq, or r/w.. just trying to get some good games going:) Besides, those who have msn/rw, icq, usually have the handles and icq numbers, which means that they can play regulary. Using the forum this way, if you do not have their icq number, or handle name, you can still get together..
