Ollie88 10 Posted December 27, 2009 How do you choose what type of ammunition to load into RPG-7 for example. It is annoying when you have PG-7V and PG-7VR ammo and only PG-7V will load when facing a tank.
rellikki 7 Posted December 27, 2009 I believe you can choose the ammo type to load from your action menu, unless you have only one type of warhead with you.
nomdeplume 0 Posted December 27, 2009 Yup that's exactly right, once you have switched to the RPG, if you open the action menu again you'll get a "Reload PG-7VR" option which will switch to that ammo type, and after that the action menu will have a "Reload PG-7VL". That's using the standard Rifleman (RPG-7) Russian soldier type.

BTW I was playing the napa scenario, where you fight agains the russians, and Razor Team just stands there and does nothing. I could buy PG-7V ammo and PG-7VR was salvaged from russian trucks. I don't know what the problem was, but russian APCs would sometimes be able to withstand 3 PG-7V hits. I guess it is realistic, but then again PG-7VR kills anything with just one hit, which is not realistic in my opinion. Russian trucks seemed to be immune to AK-74 fire too. randir14 10 Posted December 27, 2009 They aren't immune you can still shoot through the windows and pop the tires.
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted December 28, 2009 PG-7VR is overpowerful in vanilla Arma2, or MBT armor too weak. Also it has increadible range compared to the real thing (about 75m effective range, but hit probability not exactly promising). I would assume (personal opinion) that a 7VR is capable of taking out almost anything but MBTs in a single hit, unless unlucky or skimming shot. Last night I saw some discovery (I think) program about "worlds greatest AFVs/IFVs" (?) where a certain M2 Bradley was mentioned taking 10 iirc direct RPG-7 hits and driver still being able to get the vehicle to a secure® location, saving the occupants. It seems to me you always score a fixed (best effect) hit in Arma, which imho is wrong, or at least not enough. Maybe a great deal of randomness should be added? Meaning, you can take out an MBT with a single PG-7VR, but it has to be a somewhat lucky shot (depending on where you hit naturally).
