Backstory question about Chernarus

Recommended Posts

I'm confused. In the beginning of the Harvest Red campaign they talk about Chernarus being home to 3 million Chernarussians and 800,000 Russian settlers. However this sounds like way to many people for the size of the towns/cities that we fight over. Then I played the EW campaign and saw the map of the entire country and a star next to a city. I thought Chernagorsk was the capital? Or is it simply the capital of the South Zagoria region much like Denver is the capital of the State of Colorado or etc?

Is that other city (can't remember name) the actual capital of the entire country and are the cities west of the playable map possibly bigger than the ones we know?

Hehe I'm trying to imagine squashing 3,800,000 people into these tiny towns :D.

Chernarus is a full country.

South Zagoria is a region of Chernarus, like Colorado is a region of the United States.

Chernogorsk is the capitol of South Zagoria, not Chernarus. Much like Denver is the capitol of Colorado, not the United States.

So 3,000,000 native Chernarussians and 800,000 ethnic Russian settlers refers to the population of the entire country of Chernarus, not limited to, but including South Zagoria.

Hope this helps. :D
