Help with multi-language Stringtable files

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

**********************

How To Make A "multi-language" stringtable file work in a mission/campaign

**********************

First of all b4 any one shits on me for asking a question that must have been asked a 1,000 times by now...

Yes i did a search , and of the some 500 pages or more I have read through, I still have not found what I am looking for.

of all the help demo's that could help me, still did not help me,

so hence the reason why I am asking ..

And Please, If you know how to help me, please and thank you. :D

If you have some smart ass comment to give me, "Don't Bother Replying"

*****************************

I have stringtable files for each mission i have in a campaign,

and for testing wise , I did one up in the English, french,Italian,Spanish,German,& Czech

for all the text to be seen in game, for Intros, mission, outros.

But I can not get the stringtable to activate

Is there a line in the main script or description file or in the Init file I need to add to make this work ??

I even went as far as to RIP apart Campaigns from OFP, and OFPR, and Red Hammer, and Others that have "multi-language" Text that show up in game...

But it did not help me in the lest.

Now maybe I have the right intro demo to help me or not, just all the ones I have just do not seem to work, or gives me errors..

and no, none of the text's are linked to Voice, it is just to have "multi-language" to the missions

(even though a lot of OFP ppl use the English) I am trying to make it so all can read the story .

I want to thank ww2weasel for taking the time and helping me and showing me the errors of my ways..

I now have working multi-language stringtables for my campaign...

all works so fine now.. I am a happy camper .. BEER FOR WW2Weasel

One more thing to test, is to make sure the French, Italian, Spanish, German, Czech

is all done right ...
