Invalid MP CD Key - Do not buy from GoGamer.com

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I know exist another thread about this issue, but I preferrred to open a new one because I think the community needs to be informed with a very specific thread. However if Admins/Moderators feel like they prefer to move this thread somewhere else, they are welcome to do it.

FIRST OF ALL I WANT TO THANK BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE TECH SUPPORT and Customer Service.

This company really deserve a kudo because they care about their customers and they do what is in their power to keep the satisfaction high.

I also want to thank Mr. Jan Prazak, PR Manager at Bohemia, because he took interest in my case.

Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the vendor online GoGamer.com and in this thread I mostly want to warn the community. Then, everyone is free to judge and buy wherever they want.

To make a long story short, I bought the game from GoGamer and as many others on this forum, I later discovered that the CD key provided with their game was Invalid, which means unable to provide multiplayer experience.

I've been in touch with Bohemia and GoGamer customer service.

While Bohemia provided constant update on the process they were going to take to investigate my situation, also with 2 emails per day, GoGamer customer service has been way different.

First of all they never replied to an email I sent to their tech support.

Then, after 2 days I called their 800 number and finally I had my case immediately escalated to a supervisor.

Important things to know:

1 - GoGamer declares all of their games are brand new, sealed and nevr used. No sale of "returned" games.

2 - The supervisor who was taking care of my case blamed the "Invalid Key" issue on "pirate keys generators" available online, saying that unfortunately is becoming a spread issue and at the beginning he was reluctant to provide me another Key saying "most probably it would not work either, for the same reason"

I objected about this explanation for 2 reasons:

1 - If the "key generator issue" was true, considering how many hundreds copies of this game are sold, only a minority of customers are having issues and "statistically" the chance to have 2 brand new Keys "Invalid" in a row would be very low.

2 - If GoGamer is aware of a such important issue selling a game, they should shut down their ArmA 2 sales immediately, because "tomorrow" they would have hundreds of unsatisfied customers for the same reason.

The supervisor did not provided any answer to those objections, which leads me to think they are aware of a problem, whatever the real reason for the problem is, but they just do not care about customer satisfarction. They sell their product, then the customer has to play the game "catch me if you can" to possibly have a refund.

However, finally he agreed to provide another Key. However the service was not "prioritary". I had to wait other 2 days with no email interaction, to finally get a new Key.

Guess what, tested the second "brand new key", it was INVALID too!

Now we are out of the world of "coincidences". I immediately reported the issue again and now are 3 days (considering yesterday was Thanksgiving and today is Black friday) I did not received any official reply from that supervisor.

My final solution will be to ask for an RMA, hoping they will comply with that and "may be" having my money back one day.

As Bohemia technician explained to me, legally is the Vendor Only enabled to replace an Invalid Key with a good one. If that becomes impossible, the only path is asking for a refund and buy somewhere else.

MORALE:

Try to buy ALWAYS from very trusted sites and don't be fooled by weird discounts and... read forums like this one, hoping to find some valuable info like this one before you spend your money in the wrong direction.

Peace.

Myself and several other people have bought from them w/o issues; and if there is a problem they're more than helpful to get it resolved. Maybe you just got unlucky; but I'd buy from them any day.

Also what's this have to do with troubleshooting??
