OOPz 10 Posted November 16, 2009 (edited) i believe the 3,3 'fire' command was added with the 1.4 patch, right? does anyone know exactly what it is? specifically what is the difference between it and the 'command fire' command (via key binding). i just did a simple test, it seems that 'command fire' will shoot through a 'cease fire' order, but the 3,3 'fire' will not.... but thats a very simple, very quick test, i could be totally wrong here. tell your tank gunner to target a house, then 3,3... he will not shoot the house?!? (and will, it seems, loose the targeting too) Edited November 16, 2009 by OOPz
grub 10 Posted November 16, 2009 Its always been there. Well it was there in OpF. From memory you can ask a teammate to fire when they call out a target but, its different to "engage" where they will leave the squad. I pretty sure you can use fire under a no fire order but they will stop shooting when the target is "scratched"
OOPz 10 Posted November 16, 2009 humm, thanks i guess i just missed it when i was making my reference text file mapping out the commands eh. i just had a bit of a play with it, on foot its straight forward as there is no 'command fire'.. in vehicles it seems to be something along the lines of stopping 'fire at will' if you order a target the gunner will still take it out, but wont just carry on to the next automatically, but with 'command fire' setting 'cease fire', it seems to override that single target engage and totally stop the gun. i guess it could be handy in that once in a lifetime incident where you only want to kill one badguy ;)
