Can not host a lan game.  help!

Recommended Posts

have a Dlink 801 router with latest firmware. Both computers work fine for internet and LAN sharing. Both XP Pro. Both can connect to OFP multi games via internet at the sametime. Both computers are running 1.46.

Problem:

I'm trying to host a LAN multiplayer game. This happens on both machines: I try to create a multiplayer LAN game, HOST enters the server setup without the HOST player present! (not running ofpserver.exe) The other machine (non host) sees the game, joins and that player is present in the pool. But whichever machine I choose to host (create), that player doesn't show up in the pool.

Is there a work around?

I'm not using internet connection sharing. Both machines connect to internet directly through the router.

Thanks for the help,

Look G Rider, im not sure if this help, but i got few ideas.

1) R u trying to create the game as a dedicated server?

2) Try to change the host options, the connection, port, etc...

Well, that's all for now. I'll try to figure out something myself, if anything appears, i'll inform u. Later

Got it working by selecting 2235 on both machines.

Thanks,

Just not sure if someone from the outside can join my LAN game.

LAN games are only accessible from within that network. Hence the name "LAN game" <> "Remote game".
