Does anyone else have problems buying things (only in DOW)

This only happens to me in Dogs of War.

When i select "buy weapons" or units, the screen loads but it takes a full minute or 2 before you see the options = weapons, units, etc.

So i go to buy four soldiers,

-I select buy units after 1 or 2 minutes all my choices come up.

-I click medic, i wait, 40 seconds or so later it moves medic from left column to right

-Once medic goes to the right side i repeat this process over and over again.

-If i select medic, click the arrow, knowing it will move, i go and highlight "antiair" but do not push the arrow. I did not select antiair, only highlighted it, Now my click from the medic registers, and since i am highlighting anti air it moves antiair over instead of the unit i selected MEDIC

So if most of my units have been killed and i need to get more, I will spend at least 10 minutes of game time at that one purchase, usually more. AND THIS MEANS that the first 2 or 3 guys i bought have no doubt been run over by this time, i have to spend more money to replace them.

OH and if i buy a helicopter, thank god for the guy who decided to build the aircraft base in between buildings, SO.....If i buy a helicopter i have to have entered the buy unit screen facing the airbase that way i can watch to see if my helicopter spawns on top of the wall, or through a hand rail, or on top of the big dirt pile strategicaly placed.

So now, i spent 20 minutes buying 6 soldiers (2 run over) =4. And bought 3helicopters, the first two unusable, and bought 1 repair truck to repair the helicopter that is on a flat surface.

ONE MORE ISSUE, i posted this in troubleshooting but no one responded.

I get to the part where i give lopetev over to the russians, and the russians come out of nowhere to wipe us out.

The problem is this; the video starts of us handing him over, one of my guys says something, then nothing. the video continues with all the shooting and moving sounds but all the dialogue in the video doesn't play. lopetev starts to run for the truck then everyone freezes in place. I can move but thats it. The russians cant move but they shoot until they run out of amo. They aren't frozen totally cause i can walk around and walk in front of one he will shoot. only where he was frozen aiming at.

So when i push escape, the only option is to revert, save is not selectable. after a while, i push escape and it says , "skip" or "again". skip does nothing, again starts it over. If i keep pushing continue, while everyone is frozen, Cooper starts talking to the guys i'm giving lopetev to and they talk back etc. That is obviously the dialogue that was supposed to play with the video.

I have only gotten it to go past that like 2 times. Lopetev and the two guys with him have been blown to shreds because while they were frozen, the truck two feet away kept blowing up about 4 times.

Also most of razor team have been killed by the bullets from the russians when they were frozen.

Long story short, I lowered all my settings as far down as they could be. The video looked like i was looking through a coke bottle and it still did the same thing. So i donn't know if these issues have been caused by evertything going on on succh a huge battlefield. but i have a really good computer. shit Battlefield 2 freaks out when maps are bigger than a square mile or so.

I have no lag in game play at all. so if anyone can help. please.

Not just DoW it seems, I have similar problems in Badlands. I can buy weapons but not units. I've got as far as the 2nd town (Stary Sobor) and after taking that my NAPA units need some reinforcements. Sadly for them all that appears in the Buy Units menu is the V3S, which turned out to be a large truck. I can cause huge numbers of these to materialise from thin air around the command post and if I could get them to do that 50ft over the heads of enemy troops this would be my new favourite weapon. Tragically this is not an option.

As I've already accumulated $30000 of funds I presumably could buy myself a reasonably impressive force so if anyone knows how I can get hold of combat units that would be handy.

try to press "m" (map) key when you are in the buy interface.

what does pressing the m key help with?

optimate, i don't think you can give units to Napa. i know now how to give away units but i don't think the option is there in badlands. So unless you want them completely wiped out, use them in the first battle then keep them away. Just like you have to do with your own squad in DOW. This game still needs a little tinkering. You shouldn't have units than can not die. That is not realistic. In real war you lose, you lose men too. I hate games that you can only win. DOW is a little better with that cause it has a lot of give and take.

In Dogs of War, i have my 2 in a repair truck, 3 in a refueling truck, and 4 in an ammunition truck. I leave them at an air strip and whenever i need to fix my choppers i fly back to them. That way they don't get killed. the only thing that drives me crazy is they will NEVER refuel. I parked them in a gas station next to the pump. When i was in the truck it refueled. But after about 20 minutes flying around they run out of gas despite me using the action command to refuel. And i have to position them next to whatever i want to fix or refuel, They won't ever drive close enough to you to do it.

As many hitches this game has I love it. I need to start exploring user created missions. I want to be able to build my squad and have good compitition and be able to let my guys die if i have to

victim913 did you try the advice? pressing "m" several times will speed up the buy interface.

I share the exact same problems as victim913's problems in Dogs of War. I am totally unable to move past the bugged out cut scene during the lopetev exchange. Can anyone answer if there is a way to skip the cut scene? Changing settings offers no help.

My buy weapons, units, construction interface is also totally useless. I bought three T-72's and used those to take over the country.
